I posted some information about what I did about a year or more ago. You can probably search for it. Basically I bought a small soft side cooler from a VERY well known online store (don't think I'm allowed to name it or the product here) but it has some special gell cells where you freeze part...
The symptom that you mentioned in your original post, "symptoms of being extremely drunk, but I hadn't been drinking" sounds to me like very low blood sugar. I would hope that with all of the testing that you had the doctors ruled that out? Since you're fairly young, I'm also guessing that...
I originally only injected in my glutes, but after reading a number of strings like this, I decided a couple of months ago to try adding quads to my rotation to reduce scar tissue issues. I've done both quads a couple of times now (25g) with no problems. I do seem to feel the injection spot...

If it's only been a week or two since the incident, then it's possible it just hasn't completely healed. I've had an incident or two when a nurse taking blood F#$^ked up and I got a major bruise....it can take a while before all of the purple goes away. If it's been months since the incident...
Bitterdregs:
I agree with the above posters that you should go to more frequent injections, at least weekly. The smaller injections will also probably help with the injection site pain. Good luck!
