Been a while, so I thought I'd stop in and update my thread.
Latest lab work:
Hemoglobin: 16.9 (this is down from 17.8)
Hematocrit: 50 (Down from 52-53)
Total Testosterone: 887
E2 (sensitive test): 19
Current protocol:
75mg test 2x weekly (Mon AM/Thur PM) (150mg total/week)
250IU HCG...
Not much I can do. Wait around until 5/16 and hope for no issues caused by the high hemo in the meantime.. Not my favorite plan, but it's all I've got at the moment.
Good advice on the adex, Megatron. I'm doing 0.25 twice a week now and my latest labs showed E2 @ 25 (still on 100mg test). Testosterone was at 400 the day of my shot (before injection). I talked the doc into allowing me twice a week injections going forward.
So now I'm to:
50mg Test Cyp on...
Thanks for the tips, guys. I'm deferred from trying again until 5/16 so I'll do what I can to make the next trip a successful one! I'd like to avoid going the therapeutic phlebotomy route if I can get by with donating.
My last lab results showed an elevated hematocrit (52%). No problem, right? Doctor says just go donate blood. Same idea I had in my head as soon as she said that. As luck would have it, there was a local blood drive happening today. I stopped in to give my donation and help myself/others at...
Another update.
I'm now several weeks in to TRT and just had my follow up lab work.
This was taken two days before my next shot.
Testosterone: 487
E2 (sensitive test): 44
I haven't picked up the lab sheet yet, but these were the numbers give to me over the phone by my doctor.
She had...
My script was for 10ml of 100mg/ml dosed at 1ml/week. Pharmacy didn't have any and said there was a "shortage." They called the doc and then filled it with the 200mg/ml @ 0.5ml/wk in 1ml vials. They said they'd try to get the 10ml vials in for next time though. I know it was $45 for the two 1ml...
I thought about that when I noticed how large 18g was. Thus far I've just been given two of the small 1ml 200mg/ml vials that are good for two doses each. Probably a non-issue. I'll ask for 20g next time I go in though. Thanks for the tip!
First, good luck on getting on a protocol that works for you.
Based on my recent experience, it can be difficult to find someone knowledgeable and helpful. I did a ton of research on gels, creams, patches, etc when I figured I would have to go on TRT. There are complaints about everything...
Now, to end this story..
I went back to the pharmacy today and talked to a different pharmacist. He handed me 4 of the 27g x 1/2" TB syringes (for free) and some 18g draw needles and sent me out the door. Just did my first injection. Worked out fine and completely painless.
So I'm probably...
I told my doctor I'd give subq a "shot" and see if I liked it, but she left it up to me based on what I find to be personal preference. So, we'll see how that goes. As far as the HCG is concerned, it was a matter of cost. Paying for the pre-filled syringes of HCG at the doctor's office worked...
So, my doc decided to allow me to self-inject test cyp @ 100mg/wk to start with along with 250iu HCG 2x weekly. Great! So far so good. Doctor's office prepared the HCG injections for me (two months worth) and told me to freeze them and thaw one out in the fridge a day or so before I need it...
Another update.. I went back to the doctor today.
She mentioned wanting to put me on HCG. Great, I said.. Then she asked me if I wanted to come in or just self-inject. I took the DIY option (obviously). Then I mentioned preferring shots over the testosterone cream, you know, since she was...
I have nothing against TRTNooby trying to help out. He's right, I did mention cost being a huge factor. I'm already working two jobs just to stay afloat. IMT seems to be competitively priced, but I'm still wrangling with whether or not I can make the jump. I have enough money left in my HSA to...
