Nanno,
Glad to help. I don't taper off. I started my replacement treatment of 200 mgs a week and I have been on that now for almost a year. Since this is designed to replace my normal level, there is no need to cycle off and run PCT. HRT for me, at age 42 is a long term proposition. I foresee doing this for the next 20-30 years.
I would encourage you to think about HRT that way. Personally, I don't like to see guys who are less than mid 30's do this type of thing.
I did use Propecia. In fact, I did for the past 16 years. I was actually involved in the clinical trials of the drug back in 94.' However, when I started my HRT, I switched to Avodart .5 mg 3 times a week. I made this switch b/c there was a slight elevation in my blood levels of DHT and I did not want to risk the "rockstar" head of hair that I've got. My Dad and brother are bald. I firmly believe that my 16 years of Propecia is the only thing that has allowed me to keep my hair.
