Hey B,
I'm new here. I know I'm not the man you were looking to talk to but I saw your question and figure I'd offer up some help. What type of cardio are you doing? HIT or just slow paced walking to keep in the fat burning range? The amount of cardio and intensity does matter because cardio burns calories and if you're burning too many, it will be very difficult to throw on weight. Gaining mass and losing fat are both very simple. To gain mass, you take in more calories then your body expends and Viceversa to lose weight but I'm sure you're aware of that.
This is just me personally, but I like to keep my cardio at 3x a week for 45 minutes in the AM. I find that doing it in the AM revs my metabolism up first thing in the AM and its a great way to start off the day. Doing that it enables me to put on lean mass while keeping bodyfat levels from getting too out of control. I sure hope this helps some bro
