A diet change to gain weight

Hi all

Firstly I'll start with some stats -

Age: 25
Height: 6ft
Weight: 150pounds
BMI: 19.8

So after maybe the worst 12month of my life I decided to go into 2013 with a hole new mind set and goals, a couple goals being to get healthy and to gain some weight/muscle so I went out and bought my self some weights and started to train, slowly but surely over the last 6month I've seen a small gain in strength and my body beginning to rip.

Lately I was offered a 12week cycle of Test, I was going to jump right in and go for it but after doing some research I've realised it's not steroids I need at this point but it's a change in my eating because to be honest it's pretty piss at the moment, need to gain some weight.

My daily food intake would normally consist of something like this.

8:00am
Bowl of oatmeal with a slice of toast with some peanut butter/honey
12:00pm
Tuna, mayo and sweet corn pasta dish
2:00pm (pre workout)
glass of milk and a piece of fruit
4:30pm
Maybe pie and chips with vegetables
8:00pm
Bowl of cereal.

I've also started to use an all in one muscle shake twice a day, high in carbs high in protein.

Any advise on how to put my diet into shape and to put on the pounds would be much appreciated. Thanks

Ps. Work is slow so any advise on doing this on a budget is a bonous!

idk how someone can be 6ft tall, weigh 150 pounds with 20%bf.... somethign seems wrong here.... 20% bf @ 150 = 30 pounds of fat... op if you cut 15 pounds you can get them abs you've always dreamed of :P btw eat more.... i consume that many cals in like a meal and a half :yumyum: and im only 5'7 @ 180 pounds if that says much

Looks like you need more protein buddy. I would def add some eggs to breakfast, like 3 or 4.

For lunch, a nice big piece of chicken, steak or turkey with some oats or whole grain pasta.

Dinner same as lunch, then eat again and again.

Pretty much eat every 4 or 3 hours a good solid meal. If you can't do that try a weight gainer. Lug 2 servings if your at work and a shaker. All you need is water and a 5 min or less to drink it.

Eat those 3 solid meals plus your weight gainer or if you can the meals and it will increase your appetite. I guarantee you will add some lbs if you do that.

But the lifting alone should increase your appetite.

Since you said your on a budget, your gonna have to cook your food.

Brown rice, oats and whole grain pasta is easy.

There are also a lot of recipes here on this forum if you suck at cooking.

I've recently purchased some weight gain, I'm mixing it with full fat milk and also started hoying berrys, nuts and whatever else i can find into the mix. I ain't to bad on the cooking side of things but yea there's some good recipes on the cooking page, thanks
