Adderall and cutting

I'm posting this as a new thread, because I wanted to make sure ppl saw it. It was at the tail end of a thread on Metformin. The topic of Adderall, etc, does come up as an adjunct to BB when cutting etc.
Word.

A word on Adderall. A DEA Schedule II substance (HIGH potential for abuse and addiction)
Guys, this is pure amphetamine; actually, a mixture of 4 amphetamines (2 dextro, and two plain).
We called it speed in the 60's and 70's. I saw many good people get seriously strung out on it. It is euphoric, gives you tons of energy, nixes the appetite, lets you go w/out sleep.
The crash is equally extreme. Depression, neurotransmitter depletion, hypersomnia, craving for the drug, etc.
Amphetamines had been just about phased out of the pharmacopia due to abuse and addiction; however, w/ the rise of ADD and ADHD as fashionable diagnoses, the pharm companies saw a chance to take market share back from Ritalin (also a II), and several amphetamines (Adderall, Dexedrine, in both immediate realese and extended release forms) are now being marketed and widely prescribed). We are seeing a resurgence in addiction; very similar to methamphetamine (add a methyl group).
Be very carerful about this stuff; it is NOT benign.
As for Dr VJ's bros that "LOVED" the Adderall: that's a bad sign right there; most people love heroin from the get-go as well. I don't think I'm being overly dramatic based on what I've seen. I'm boarded in Addiction Medicine.
Adderall is not Schedule II for no reason; this was a rational action, unlike the Scheduling of AAS.

Thanks Buffdoc. unfortunately in this day people will go to the utmost extremes to look at certain way on a certain day. The least we can do is educate them as to what is dangerous because obviously some people dont see the danger.

ive used aderral xr and ritalin more times than i can remember. i used to take em on school days when i couldnt stay up from working too much. never felt anywhere neer addicted or dependant. i think the warnings are blown out of proportion. and it realy does help to pay attention in class. never killed my apetite though.

On that post, I told how hard it is to get off of, sure, for a while, it kills your appetite, and jacks you up for a workout, but after a while, both wear off. Then you have to take it to feel normal.

I partially agree when you say "I think the warnings are blown out of proportion". I'm sure this is dependent on the individual of course. The bro's of mine that BUFFDOC was referring to which "loved the stuff" said the same things (sides were blown out of proportion). I don't know them well enough to give you my honest opinion as to their "dependency issues" regarding Adderral.

I also concur with Buffdoc on this subject as well. He DOES give GOOD sensible advice here!!!!(as always). There are in FACT going to be some people that try it and don't get so lucky! Heed his warnings and as I mentioned on the other thread.......at least do your homework and educate yourself on Adderral should decide to try it!

Yeah, what DrVJ said! ;-)
Sounds like you're one of the lucky ones; if so, more power to ya. Not everyone is a candidate for addiction, whether to amphets, alcohol, or opioids.

That, however, does NOT mean that the warnings are out of proportion, because a lot of people who think they're fine with it, and DO well for a time, eventually succumb. Addiction also has a temporal, or time element associated with it.

I've heard these mantras from hundreds of people first presenting for addiction treatment at 20, or 30, or 60 years of age. "It was never out of control before"; "I could always take it or leave it"; "I was never stupid/weak/careless enough to get strung out"; "No, not me".

Yet there they are, and it has nothing to do with intelligence or will-power or moral fiber.

These are powerful drugs and deserve respect; lack of that respect can get us bitten in the ass, badly. Take it from one who knows.

I take 30mg of adderal xr ED for ADHD. I have come off before for weeks without a crash. I might try startera, which is the newest drug out there. It wont being scheduled, because it is not a stimulant. I am still waiting to hear more feedback.

I take 300mg of Wellbutrin SR also as an anti-depressant. The 2 together have allowed me to drop 3-4% BF over 4 months. The only down side is I have to take 2mgs of Kalanopin to fall asleep.

I tried Lexapro and it made me feel weird, so I stopped.

Overall, I like the 2 together, I feel more focused and motivated, which in turns makes me feel better in general.

I have seen many get addicted, but I think it has a lot to do with the person!

So say you get drug tested...... by using Adderal it would show up as amphetamines ????
I belive its clearance time is 2-3 days, but yes, it would. Adderall is 4 different amphetamine salts. It will show up just like crystal meth.
