An old newbie

Well I've been lurking long enough.

I'm 38, 6'0" and 208 lbs. 17% bf. Approx

I've worked out seriously off and on for my entire adult life. Been going pretty hard again for the last 1.5 years.

I've always had a hard time gaining good weight. Never a problem with getting a beer belly (actually only fat on me). I decided to give AAS a try and begin my research. Thanks to this board I've realized I'm not quite ready, yet. My diet isn't near what it needs to be. I've been trying to increase my calorie intake and it's a lot harder than I thought. Also just completely severed a ligament in my ankle along with tears to many other ligaments and tendons. So I haven't been able to workout much the last 2.5 weeks. So eating is probably a little harder than if I could be more active right now. Today I've had 8 eggs, 1/2 cup plain oatmeal, banana, apple, can of tuna with real mayo, two pieces of bread, a tortilla, two large chicken breasts, half a cup of brown rice, corn on the cob and two fruit yogurts. I still don't think I hit 3000 calories. Oh yeah and one protein shake pwo. I guess I have to build up slowly? Or will the gear help with appetite?

When I am ready I plan on:

500mg test e for 12 weeks. I thought about stacking with equipoise but you all have convinced me to keep it simple on a first cycle. I want to add lean mass. I'm already lean, except for belly fat. I'd like to lose my gut and add more definition everywhere. Ideally about 10-14 lbs more muscle when all is said and done.

Of course I'll run a standard pct and I'll talk more about that when I'm getting ready to begin my cycle. Still trying to learn more about HCG and AI's.

Anyway, just wanted to start posting and see what else I can learn. Thanks again for this great resource.

Yeah wait until healed. Just run the test 12-14 weeks. Have an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) like aromisin or adex on hand in case of estro issues and to run during post cycle therapy (pct).

That's not a bad amount of food and you are a decent sized man. Usually on cycle of test appetite will increase. Probably due to body using up nutrients and all the extra hard work in the gym. You should try to get your BF down closer to 15%. You are a perfect age for a cycle.

My stats are similar to yours and to me diet is the hardest part of this game especially since I work construction 6 days a week I have to eat alot just to maintain let alone gain, your on the right track, just discipline yoourself and track all your intake on programs liike fitday, those are a huge help and will give you a real good idea where you are, ,good luck

ALCOHOL IS FKN USELESS.

A beer or two is OK for some..or a drink. But to consider gear with a beer belly ?

Ab s are made in the kitchen...post up that gut bro..

Like I said, I realized I'm not ready yet. After getting my diet in check my BF will most likely be getting in check too.

Sounds like your ready bro, good luck with your cycle bro I am running 600mg/wk TEST CYP as my first cycle right now and i kinda wish i woulda got TEST E instead, as i hear it's more geared towards adding mass and reducing bodyfat, whereas cypionate it mainly geared towards a bulk. Let us know how it goes.

Once my ankle heals i should be ready. I start physical therapy today. If PT doesn't work then it's surgery. If that's the case I'm several months away from my first cycle.

I know a lot of the gains will be water weight and it will be lost during post cycle therapy (pct) but how hard is it to keep the real gains of strength and muscle?
