Well, here it goes.

Some time ago I was interested in doing a cycle to help gain mass and pretty much the entire community in unison screamed "lol learn to eat first, skinny bitch"

So after about 6 months of forcing food down my mouth I finally got used to it and was able to stick to a diet of at least 3-4kcal a day.

After adjusting to that I started drinking shakes and eating a bit more snack food and started to hover around 5kcal a day, and that started to work very well for me.

I started out at 6'2" and 150lbs >.< after 6 months I was up to 165lbs and had not seemed to gain much, if any, fat.

Sorry for the long intro but this is where my nightmare begins. I had been eating roughly 5kcal a day for around 6 months, and I am now weighing in between 190 -195.

I don't want to say that I've hit a "plateau" because I am still quite skinny and that would be silly.

I work as a carpenter framing houses, and love to mountain bike / dirtbike and rock climb in my free time. Is all this extreme cardio holding me back from bulking up?

I am starting to get quite frustrated, and so I've come back to ask if maybe, just maybe, it would be time to consider doing a cycle or two to help gain some mass?

Is my problem that I'm way too active and 5kcal / day is not enough?

Thanks for any serious responses, hoping to not get flamed into the ground again lol

What kind of food are you taking in? It's fine saying 5000 kcal but is it 5000kcal of good nutrition or junk food because that have a huge difference in muscle gain.

To be perfectly honest I do eat a lot of crap (whole milk, tons of cheese, red meat, peanuts, sausages), it is mostly just higher fat food tho, not junk food. One thing I've noticed; if I miss out on my shakes for a day I'm not hitting my protein goals from my diet alone, but its not a huge deficit.
