Cancer and TRT???........

Is there any evidence that TRT would increase your chances of cancer re-occurring after you have had cancer in the past?

None that I am aware of. I don't think men with healthy hormone levels have a higher rate of cancer than hypogonadal men.

Yes, there is actually. However, the studies are pseudo-science at best and make such claims based on correlation.

Correlation does NOT mean causation.

The correlation drawn is because it is known that DHT is the hormone responsible for the growth of HEALTHY prostate tissue. As testosterone goes up, so does DHT. The incidence in prostate cancer was shown to increase, so the researchers called it case closed.

Except, they neglected to look further down the chain, and discounted the fact that as testosterone goes up so does estradiol as well. Estradiol is a known carcinogen (women have known this for some time), and if it is not controlled - prostate cancer may occur. Fortunately, there are many different ways of controlling estradiol.

In short: TRT managed properly has only benefits. TRT managed poorly does have many risks. The key here is to manage your hormones properly so you don't fall into the latter category. ;)

My .02c :)
