Carb cravings

Hey Guys and Gals,

I have serious carb cravings especially at night just before bed. I tried increasing my daily protein intake and tried eating oatmeal at night to satisfy the cravings but that doesn't work. Oh, and I tried taking a chromium supplement before bed as well. What can I do to suppress these carb fits? It's killing my physique, what's left of it.

Thanks all.

are you eating enough during the day? are you finding that your just craving the carbs because your bored and want to eat? are you following a low carb diet... if so how long and how often you you have refeeds?
if your hungry at night fill up on tons of green fiberous veggies and protein and some efa's. try sugar free jello for something sweet.

sugar free jello and popsicles(sp?) are great when your craving food. Also diet soda and crystal light.

Make sure your eating enough during the day though, cause If you find yourself extremely hungry before bed or during the middle of the night your probably not consuming enough calories.

Yeah, last month I started supplementing 2gms of glutimine per day and it seems to be curbing my cravings somewhat.

I don't think I'm getting enough meals during the day. I eat a basic breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday. I'm thinking I may need to throw in some quality snacks between each major meal. I'm on efa's and glutamine and it seems to be decreasing the carb cravings some. I guess I'll have to give it more time.

Defintly think that you should be eating more often then. dont go more then 2.5-3 hrs for small meals!

ditto.. THIS IS A MUST!! small meals every 2 - 3 hours keeps you from getting too hungry, is easy for the body to digest, keeps a steady supply of protein in the blood, and keeps the metobolism rockin...

You definitely need to add a few snacks in there. If you can't go with real food, use the whey shakes as your in between meal snacks.
If you find that your having sweet cravings, grab a Diet Vanilla Coke. It does wonders for me.
Try to always have some cut up chicken breasts or hard boiled eggs handy so that when you're hungry, you have food readily available. This way you won't snack on the wrong things....lol:)

cottage cheese before I go to bed helps me out...I get those cravings everynight when i go by the oreo's...ewww soda is gross
