I tried a scoop of casein only with water once. I never made shakes before that, but it tasted horrible. As far as the best brands in my opinion I would recommended micellar casein if that's what you want.
cottage cheese? Never knew, I thought it was more of a source of whey? Very intersting. On a side note;MRI makes a pretty decent tasting caesin. It's what I use on a regular basis, the vanilla flavor is very bearable. PP MAP taste awful...sorry lol. I got lemonade and cranberry blast flavors, and the cranberry blast literally tasted like the smell of a port-o-john.
I like N2MATRIX because of the low carb count, i can take it at night and not worry about putting on fat. I have mixed it with cottage cheese at night too! Its pretty good, similar to rice pudding. It really the only casein I can stomach the taste of. FOr some reason a lot of them taste so bad! And I am not very picky about taste.
