custom blended protein

being a college student makes it difficult sometimes to get in my macros in the best way possible.

Ive been looking lately at custom blended proteins from proteinfactory.com

I was thinking of combining a few different protein types to use as a filler for me since I live in a dorm and can't cook my own food yet :(

what do you guys think about this blend?

25% micellar casein
20% egg white protein
15% whey isolates
20% why concentrate
20% oat muscle

it will be an all purpose kind of protein to keep blood levels stable, and also have some carbs in there as well,

per 50 gram serving there will be 35g protein 9g carbs and 2g fat total 200 cals.

any thoughts?

It's simple and straight forward. An MRP will never be as nutritious as whole food, but I totally understand the problems of dorm life. Pick up some natty PB and some berries to go with that stuff and you'll round things out nicely.

Protein factory makes good stuff, btw.

i was just thinking... could this problem be solved also by using milk as the base of a whey iso/concentrate blend along with some oat muscle and natty pb?

so lets say

12 oz skim milk - 12g protein (10 is casein) 16g carbs
1 scoop whey mix - 20g protein 4g carbs 2g fat
1 tbsp natty pb - 8g fat 4g carbs 3g protein
1 scoop oat muscle - 6g protein 30g carbs 3g fat

totals: 41g protein 54g carbs 13g fat

does this seem like a reasonable all around shake? I'm leaning towards going this way because NTBM is having 25% off their proteins (made by protein factory) and 5lbs of whey mix is 35 bucks... pretty good imo.

this way i could get in a mix of proteins and low gi carbs as well as fast proteins and some good fats.

this would be a breakfast shake and wherever else I may need a filler (depending om my schedule)

3 other whole meals a day and casein before bed. any thoughts?

Making the shake yourself, with the recipe you listed, would definitely be the cheaper and probably more nutritious way to go. You can even just grind up oatmeal in a blender yourself if you want.
