Decimating Libya

Anyone else kind of saying WTF right now? All of the sudden France, Britain, and the US want to disembowel Libya. I understand that if the US dollar is no longer the world reserve currency for oil (meaning that every other currency must first convert to dollars before purchasing oil), the demand for the dollar would fall quite a bit, and potentially collapse our economy. But aside from that, and the vast African oil reserves of Libya, and the growing threat of China taking over Africa (which they have been doing), and of Iran in that area, why would we suddenly bomb the hell out of Libya? Obviously it is a mix of the above reasons. We are taking over as much land as possible in that area to defend ourselves from China is basically my theory. And all of these little insurrections in the Middle East pretty much open the door to install new governments. I'm not saying this is a bad thing per se for the US, but I'm just laughing a lot at how it can be oversimplified into, "Gadaffi is a bad bad man". Obviously they are going all out, because guerilla warfare is not cutting it in Libya, perhaps because the people were content to live in whatever communistic regime Gaddafi has going that made him a billionaire forty times over.

haha, well put I guess, though I can't help but think more than that is at stake. After all, civil wars seem to be going on all over there.

The amount of money lost on that little show was ridiculous...

Tomahawk missiles are around $600,000 EACH. Thats $67,200,000 bucks lost if we only fired the lowball number of 112 of them....

Yeah...Libya can earn its own freedom like we did in our days of revolution so long ago. If they are not willing to fight and die for it, I'm not willing to bleed for em.

The money we lost to that little show, that likely in reality killed more innocents than actual militants(as we have a habit of doing with cruise missiles lol) Could have surved many great purposes here.

China is the next big thing, America has allowed itself to fall due to corruption from within. Our time is over, our power will vanish from the world. Aye we live in dark times, for we will see the end of "America the great" and the beginning of "America the has been".

Remember what happened to Russia due to the Arms Race? Well thats happening to America with the "stick our hands in more gov'ts than you" race.

If you actually think the U.S. Is trying to "help out the people" you need to remember which government we are talking about here.

They are fighting for their own freedom, we are just assisting.
The French helped us during our revolution, and now we are helping the Lybian's.

I am willing to bleed/die for anyones freedom. Those Tomahawks are guided to their targets by men on the ground, (forward observers). I am sure they hit well intended targets with minimal "innocent" casualties. It is a civil war, and usually in those cases seemingly innocent people are actually combatants.

I am not attacking you just providing my insight/opinion.

Well you have a great point... We have become corrupt and manipulated as a country, yet there are many things we can't even comprehend. Either way I am in not in a position to know all the facts therefore I cannot make a concrete opinion.
