Hey guys, fairly new to the boards.Been reading alot here, i believe this is my first post.Give you some history been training for 7 years out of high school at the time was 6'5" 235 lbs at about 10-12% bf.Been out of the lifting game for 2 years now.Ballooned up to 295 with i would say 19-20% b.f.Question is i have been back into the gym for roughly 2 months and i have gained weight????? Before i was just eating complete garbage now its alot of chicken (grilled) tuna, salads and vegetables.I do take protein shakes as well (Metrx). Also drink a gallon of water a day and completly cut out sugar.Just lookin for a good diet for someone 6'5" to start losing it.Would like to get down to 250 by summer.

Post up what you are eating along with times/macros, and you probably will gain weight the first 2 months back in the gym, you are lifting, aren't you?

Your diet seems to be high in carbs, which you don't want. Have you tried almond butter? I put that in my oatmeal in the morning, it's pretty good..like peanut butter but without all the sugars. You can cut out a lot of those carbs but I think this is a job for Jamyjamjr, he'll probably be on here soon. Sorry I couldn't help as much as you'd like.

No i appreciate it bud any help is great.I will definatly check out that almond butter.Just cant stand the oatmeal without the pb.

well... first off i doubt your 20%.. prob higher but i'd have to see a pic....

secondly... i want you to write down everything u eat for the next coupla days..

that includes portions

ie
1 cup dry oats
6oz raw chicken
2 cups brocolli

like that.. keep measurment of everything...

also keep in mind the time u eat and the time of your workout and cardio sessions so you can put it all down in detail

that'll be our starting point

I do know the list of good foods to eat because I have just recently started a healthy diet for myself. For breakfast you want to have some type of fruit.when you wake up and wait a while to eat the rest of your breakfast which should be high fiber cereal, whole wheat toast, etc.For lunch you should have whole wheat bread with low fat meat, lettuce, tomatoes, and honey mustard.

and you think that's a proper diet for a body builder???

People sometimes confuse thirst with hunger. So you can end up eating extra calories when an ice-cold glass of water is really what you need.
If you don't like plain water, try adding citrus or a splash of juice, or brew infused teas like mango or peach, which have lots of flavor but no calories.
