Different pinning spot, has anyone tried it?

So yesterday i was at the drug store and was buying some testosterone with prescriptions and i was like talking to the pharmaceutic dude who works there and pins people if asked to and he was telling me about this spot that i dont know the name and i was wondering if anyone has tried it and share their experience lol

It looks like side of the thigh/glutes, 2 fingers above the top of femur bone

Its not EXACTLY but it is around the spot where number 3 arrow is pointing at

Apparently it is supposed to be painless, and even though it is a hardish spot to pin, he says that if u pin it wrong and hit the bone u wont feel anything, the needle just wont go in and all u gotta do is pin again on the right spot lol
 
Looks like you are talking about the ventroglute. That is a highly recommended spot for IM Iinjections. The needle goes in like butter.

So u have tried it right? How was the pain? How come it is so hard to find someone who has if it is supposed to be a great spot?

Anyways is it true what the dude said, if i miss the spot and hit the bone will it be painless and the needle just wont go in?

Imo it looks like a painful spot but depending on ur answer i will give it a go tomorrow
 
I've tried so many spots and the upper outside quadrant of the Glute always goes in smooth. Always seem to hit a few vessels on the way in on the Quad which isn't pleasant. Glutes in general seem the best. Anyway il try it out! Cheers

VG's are in my regular rotation. Lots of guys pin this spot. You are just hanging out in the wrong circles. Google it and you will see that nurses use it all the time for IM injection. Search on this site and you will find many threads on it.

You can hit the bone wherever your pin. That is always true. Think about it.

It is not a painful spot in any way.

Easiest way to find it I think is to lay on your side. Put your hand about where the VG is in your pic. Laterally raise your leg up and down. You will feel the VG flex. Another way is to stand with let's shoulder width apart and shift your weight back and forth to each leg. You should again feel the VG flexing.

Good luck!!! Pinning any new spot the first time is scary.

Ventroglutes are awesome, takes 3ccs easily without pain, no need to worry about veins, easily done by yourself due to ease of access.
 
Hmmmm. Well, today is that day. I just came online to check my mails and all that, then I was gonna run a hot bath. I hadn't even decided where I was gonna pin, so I think I'll try it.

Post it i wanna hear how it went.. I gotta pin tonight but a bit scared of this spot.. There are only 3 spots that scare me, inner calve, bicep and this one lol

how did it go? thinking of trying this as ive been having a lot of pip from both quad and glute shots

SO much better than trying to reach around to your glute. And there's so little fat, you can stretch the skin tight so you don't feel a thing. If I try that On my quad, the skin pulls on the needle if I don't manage to hold it in the exact same position. Actually, maybe it's not so much how much fat, more how much the skin can move around that matters. Anyway, I already like quads and delts, so this makes six and I can drop my right butt cheek. I can't even GET to my left anyway!
 
Ventro glute is a good spot, but finding it can be a little tricky. I know that I realized that I was injecting my tensor facsciae the first couple of times which did not feel so good.
