Just wondering, i bought a product in bulk, called Omega-Flax, flax seed meal..
Main ingredients are
omega 3
omega 6
are these the main EFA's and if so how many grams should i consume each day...
You don't need any more omega-6. Part of the problem is that most of us get almost all omega-6 fats instead of a balance between omega-6 and omega-3.
Omega-3 and Omega-6 are EFAs. There are different kinds of Omega-3 fats, however:
Alpha Linolenic Acid (ALA)
eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA)
docosahexaenoic acid (DHA)
The really beneficial ones are EPA and DHA. They are not readily available in flax. There are readily available in fish oils.
