I have hair loss in my family and it hit my dad and uncles at age 28 naturally. im 24 now and still have my hair but the gear isnt gunna help. My dads a gearhead and told me to use Finasteride to prevent it. But will Finasteride really be able to stop my hair from falling out??? thanks for any help

Use finastetide but mpb is genetically passed on from the female so check you mothers brothers or uncles for bald men

If you have mpb gene then you can take finistride but if your going to lose your hair all finistride will do is postpone it...once you stop your hair will still fall out

ok thx.

maybe ill tell the Doc i have piss probs "I just cant empty the bag anymore" so i dont have to worry about it cause insurance will cover it. But if i do ever stop is it gunna be built up and my hair falls out over night?

its impossible to say when your hair will fall out....it might never....but if you have the gene then there is a good chance it will...especially with aas involved...but you may have been skipped...it all depends on the person...I would def say that prevention is the best idea though and that your making a good decision

Don't take that shit

its fucked me and 100's of others up. Im off it almost a year - still having ED and estrogen problems!

Sorry to hear that Colin. How lond did you use it. I know guys who have been on it for years with no issues. I guess it's like everything else, it effects everyone different

I've posted this on here many times before search for my other threads on hair loss and propecia.

In short, I have used propecia for 16 years strait with no stoppage. I started using it when it was in phase III clinical trials.

It is the only reason I still have a full, rockstar, head of hair.

I do have the genetic inclination for MPB. There is not a man on either side of my family that was not total bald by the age of 30.

I noticed my hair started to thin when I was 24. I talked with my dermatologist about it and he refereed me to another dermatologist who was taking subjects for clinical trials of propecia in 1995. I got on it and I have never stopped using it.

It works wonders! The hair I lost started to grow back after about a year. Today, I am working on 41 years old and my hair looks as good as it did when I was in college.

It is the only reason I have a great head of hair.

I would suggest you read the peer reviewed published medical articles about propecia. There are plenty of studies that have been done over the last 16 years.

There is a ton of good info on it out there.

Regards

I used it for about a year and the sides crept up on me ridiculously slowly so i thought i was ok. When i realised my erections were taking more stimulation i stopped it but the spiral continued. Now ive had penis shinkage, low fsh etc. Nightmare, especially because most doctors and endos dont have a fucking clue how to help.

Think about it. Finasteride and dut surpress DHT to ridiculous levels. DHT is a completely vital hormone on a males body. The sides are far more prevalent than the studies showed that's for sure.

Yeah there is <2 % of people who this effects(I think numbers are correct). That really sucks man. I just found out I have been dosing dutast way way to high. Luckily I've never been effected by it. I hope things got back to normal for you bro.

There's no way the 2% is correct, no way. In terms of getting any side effects it seems closer to 10% possibly even as much as 20%. That's speculation on my part though but i definately wouldn't accept the 2% figure considering it orginates from a study which has been proven to be extremely unrealiable to say the least.

Yeah, be careful with those dosages mate. And thanks :)

User is 100% correct. Meta analysis of the current literature puts the reported rate of side effects at <2%. That statistic was computed from a sample size of more than 16,000 current and former users of the drug.

Penis shrinkage? Sorry, that is totally unexplainable based on the literature and more than 20 years worth of data.

If you would have told me that you had some ED, loss of libido, elevation in estrogen and related gyno I would have said it is possible. Penis shrinkage? Really?

Mate, seriously don't even begin to act like you know what you're talking about.

There is a forum about this - propeciahelp.com - theres hundreds of users with all sorts of symtoms from complete brain fog to testicular atrophy and yes - penis shrinkage.

What's so hard to understand? You do realise your penis is nourished by androgens, right? You do realise you penis hangs bigger etc when you have higher free testosterone levels, right? Do you know how badly many people have been affected by the drug? Clearly not.

Are you not aware that guys use DHT CREAM to actually enlarge their penis? Some very successfully? No?

You do realise that androgen defecient people and/or hypogondal people suffer frmo similar problems?

The WHOLE POINT of that forum is that it showcased that study to be fundamentally wrong. There IS ALOT of information out there that now shows this to be a fact. It's accepted by many top doctors (cutting edge endochronoligists) at this point including Dr Shippen, Dr Jacobs, Dr Crisler, Professor Bouloux.

This doesn't evne get into the fact that that study didn't even admit that people could have side effects persist for a prolonged period after usage. They didn't mention any issues on fertility despite FSH levels being low acorss the board on propecia help etc.

It's extremely frustrating someone throwing a study at me that i relied on myself but now know from personal exeprience to be unrealiable.

Also, MERCK recently added depression to the list of potential side effects so don't believe everything you read.

Colin is right. Fina is just plain dangerous. I wouldn't give that drug to my worst enemy. I have seen the labs of people who have an almost 0 DHT level from that drug long after they get off it. lol
