First time - Long Time

Hello All, first time poster long time lurker. For the past few years I've been trying to change my life and physique. I've always been an overweight guy, in high school I was 6'0 and 215-225 lbs was active and ran/played sports but once I moved away from home and stopped being so active I ballooned up to 280 lbs and topped out a few years after I got married at 398 lbs. My blood pressure was excessively high and my GP told me I had to change my life or die. I gave up sodas and after a while lost 30 lbs but still lacked energy and drive. I noticed that I had no sex drive and didn't want to do anything. My wife gave up and stepped out on me and I caught her and we filed for divorce. Unfortunately that was motivation for me. I fought through the fatigue and depression/anxiety and ate about 1800 calories a day and got down to about 298 lbs but weight loss stalled. After I gained about 40 lbs back I finally went back to the gym. I started lifting for the first time in my life and fell in love. I went from 345 lbs and only being able to bench 90 lbs to 310 and benching 225-275 for reps in 8 months but my weight loss stalled. I went to the GP and he suggested that my thyroid was normal and I needed to lose weight. I was tired, sore and fatigued all the time. Mood swings. I did my research and suggested a blood test for Testosterone. The doctor was shocked but agreed and low as behold, it came back as 146. Doc suggested Axiron under arm treatment for 6 months and retest. Didn't really see any results and when I went back this past week, we retested and before the blood work was back doc prescribed Test Cyp 200mg per month. Tests came back, thyroid 2.1 and Total Test was a shocking 100. It's gone down. I got my shot and honestly after about 6 hours I felt better already. I lifted that night chest and tris and the remainder of the week normal workout that made me sore and fatigued were easier and I noticed I sweated even more than normal. I excessively sweat normal. Currently I'm at 336 lbs and my metabolism seems dead. It's been about 6 days since the shot and I've felt like crap since day 5. With my level of test and other stories ie read I feel like I should be pinning 200mg myself a week probably. Just looking for some advice. Never done any type of steroids or any other cycles. Just bad luck it seems. Tired of feeling like this though!

Sorry for the long post and looking forward to getting to know the community. Only reason I stick with GP is because he Takes my terrible insurance and writes off most of my extra money owed.

What should I do next?

You need to see someone who does testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for a living. Either an endo, urologist, or if your wallet is thick, a clinic. 200mg a month is too little for a big guy. A key indicator is to ask about Aromatase inhibitor (AI). If the doc has no idea what you are talking about, find another doc.

What should I do next?

is that 1 injection of 100mg once a month?

yeah, there is no way that's going to make you feel better.

every 10 days, max; best twice a week. maybe bug him to allow you to self stick. he might go with it.

you also need your E2 checked, to make sure your estrogen levels aren't too high. and if they are, get an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) like Anastrozole to bring it down

Thanks all. From reading most posts an doing research from what others with way higher levels than myself have shared, it seems like I'm getting the short end of the stick. His methodology is I believe he's trying to get my natural test to kick back on, but I think that ship may have sailed at least until I can figure out the weight issues if at all. To answer the questions posed, he's injecting 200 mg monthly in office. I prefer to self pin and would like to suggest 200 mg weekly in two injections weekly at 100 mg at a time, plus talking with him about estrogen levels seems difficult as when he suggested the shots I mentioned estrogen and he said we would worry about that later. Living with test this low is really messing with me mentally and physically. I used to believe this was normal and it was just being overweight. Crazy to know all the effects it has.

Well, crash happened off first shot off 200 mg test cyp on Sunday. Felt like garbage, depressed, ran down ... Called the GP and scheduled appt went this morning.. Took a vial with me in hope he would agree to weekly injections of 200. Boy was that a laugher.

He walks in the room says I look depressed.. I told him about my crash and how I've felt and the research I'd done - he tells me Testosterone isn't a magical drug and it's not going to work immediately, nor wiuld more make me feel better an most likely I need to be on anti depressants. I disagreed, asked hkm if we could aggressively treat my low T with weekly injections to get it up to normal... He stated it would be well above normal If we did that and that he would like to see me at 280. I'm currently at 107. I laughed and said that's not normal, I would like a referral to a endo. He then informed me that a endo probably wouldn't treat this and maybe I should go to a clinic to Get what I'm looking for. I then presented the vial and asked for another shot andhe agreed but said he would do no more until our scheduled visit in 2 weeks. Needless to say, I'm in search of much better alternative treatment at this point. I'd love to know in what world a 32 year old mans test is normal on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) at 280.

Sigh. Here's to trying to be positive.

in a world where a lot of doctors just look at reference ranges for T without regard to age. sadly, this one.

heck, the latest results I have have a range from 348 - 1197. 348 is great, if you're 80. i'd love to be on the high end of that range, for sure.

Sorry to hear how things are going for you - don't give up. Maybe try to do it on your own. Fortunately, I had a Uro who was willing to help, including sending me to an Endo when it became clear my Estrogens were spiking too high, which lead to depression, etc. You know the drill!!! Anyway, to make a long story short, the endo couldn't \ wouldn't help me with controlling the E. So, I chose to go out on my own ($ out of pocket) and found an all around solution that I believe will work for me, which includes an Aromatase Inhibitor to control my E2.

Hang in there and keep pushing. In worst case, there are testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) clinics that will help you!!!

I'd get copies of all my recent blood work and then go shopping for a new and better doc, one who has taken the time to learn modern TRT.
I'd also think about giving myself test injections of 50-60mg every 3.5 days until I get a new doc, hope your vial is at least 10mL.
You can learn to inject yourself from youtube videos and get needles and alcohol pads from Walmart or a similiar place.

If only I were so lucky. I have one 1ml vial left. Shopping for a new doc or a clinic currently.
