For those interested in good foods post-workout, I discovered something interesting.
Molasses is the stuff that's normally found with cane sugar, but modern processing methods separate it into refined white table sugar and into molasses syrup. While table sugar lacks any nutrients, molasses is actually VERY rich in nutrients. For example, 3 tablespoons worth would provide 21% selenium (of RDA), 30% B6, and 35% magnesium.
User a blender and mix in 3 or more tablespoons of molsasses into your milk and you get a delicious drink that has your carbs and is actually a good source of magnesium, B6, and selenium! Who would have thought? Sugar with nutrients!
Now, molasses isn't the highest GI carb, so you can always add in some bananas since they're high GI, high in starch, and low in fructose (about 30%, opposed to the usual 50% in fruits). I've never mixed bananas into the molasses milk, but hey, you could give it a shot.
At the very least, you could have some molasses in your PWO meals somewhere and you can use a dextrose/whey shake. The molasses has all the nutrients normally in sugar, so it helps make up for the total lack of nutrients in dextrose.
Just thought I'd share this recent discovery with you guys![Big grin :D :D](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f600.png)
