Hair Loss on TRT/HRT

How many of you on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) / Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) are seeing hair loss. Are any of you taking anything to keep your hair or is it not a problem?

I have only been on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for a few months but am curious if I am going to lose my hair faster than normal or if this is not going to really be a problem.

No loss since I started Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) but, as many already know, I have used finasteride for 17 years since I have a strong genetic inclination for MPB. It is the only reason I have a 20 year looking head of hair.

MPB also runs in my family my dad and brother both have been bald sense they where in there 20's. I am 45 and still have hair its getting thinner but still have it (and no comb over ). Is there any proof that testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) will make it fall out?

No, there is no proof that testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) will make your hair fall out. Can it, yes but this is specific to each individual and their protocol. Some guys can take 1000mg week of Test, which obviously is not testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), and not lose any hair. Then there are others who at 200mg week experience mild shedding.

The only way to see which category you fall into is to administer the protocol and see for yourself what positive effects you see vs. side effects.

Good luck.

The research shows that the strongest correlations for hair loss are between DHT level and time for which the level is maintained.

So, some folks, like myself, convert test to DHT like crazy. That high level of DHT is not particularly harmful to the follicles unless that level is maintained for years.

Hair follicles don't just stop producing hair all of the sudden. It is a slow process and occurs over an extended period of time where the DHT scars the follicle through excessive binding with the androgen receptor.

Get a blood test and ask for your DHT to be tested. A high level over time will result in hairloss.
