HcG by itself?

Hey All,

I read a couple threads on HcG and I can tell some people on here really know what they are talking about - respect. I have a question I can't seem to answer so I thought I'd start a thread on it and get some input from people with experience.

I have never done a cycle of anything in the past, but I plan on running test 8 weeks from now. I am interested in taking HcG though because it acts as a stand-in LH and increases your body's own natural testosterone.

Do you think it is a good idea to try this on it's own? Due to the quick cycle (2 weeks max) and the fact that it uses your body's own mechanisms to generate more testosterone, I thought this would just be a fun mini-cycle that could boost training recovery and give the fringe benefits of walking around with more test in your system (sex drive, energy, etc).

However, I read a post that mentioned that HcG has a tendency to highly aromatize to estrogen, which is something I will do anything to avoid- gynocomastia gives me nightmares.

Some talking points:
What are your thoughts on running it by itself?
Will it rock my system for 2 weeks and then turn me into a girl afterwards?
Will it not do anything and be a total waste of time?
Can it be run with something else to prevent the potential aromatizing effects?

Thanks for hearing me out guys. Any input is appreciated.

Thats correct, it may work for a short time, depending on how much it will raise you're test, but from a point it will mainly be aromatised. Everyones thought about this and its not a dumb question, but theres a reason why we dont do it. Even on cycle i've seen guys have conversion problems, and thats with low natty test. Bad idea....

styler..I dont think I would bother running Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) by itself for just a two week cycle..

Is there a reason why your only looking to run something for 2 weeks? because in all honesty if your willing to pin yourself and want an increase in test then your better off just running test. if you want a faster acting test then just use prop and you will start seeing results faster than say on e or c...

also Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) is typically used in post cycle therapy (pct)(at least to my understanding) to keep your hpta in a state that is not shutdown, and capable of a speedy recovery of test when you start a serm. thats why is it run in a blast a few weeks prior to the start of post cycle therapy (pct)..almost like a primer for the serm.

because of how it aromatizes I see it useless to use as a cycle standalone..if it were a good idea I guess you would see more people running just Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) cycles.

id say just stick with the test for now and see how your body reacts to that..Ive never cycled myself but with all the knowledge on this board you'll have no trouble putting together a cycle and post cycle therapy (pct) that is right for you..good luck

Dleato and Destined4Gr8ness,

Solid replies, thank you.

So the consensus I'm getting from both the research I've done and your guys' input, is that HcG is pretty much a one-trick pony whose sole use is a blast near the end of a test cycle to jump start natural test production and facilitate post cycle therapy (pct). It is unfortunate that it aromatizes so quickly, but that's the name of the game I suppose.

@destined4gr8ness: The only real reason I planned on running this for a short period was the attractive idea of something that was low risk/high reward with very little committment, i.e. 2 weeks of increased drive and workout recovery with no side effects and no exogenous addition to your body's own hormonal cocktail. It seems this was a pipe dream though, as the HcG would be undetectable after a few days and would just start converting to estrogen, leaving me worse off than when I started.

Also my goals are a bit different than most- I am not considering running these to get big and make gains. I will be joining a certain SF unit 6 months from now and I need to be able to cram an obscene amount of training into this time period so that I can show up and rock it. Mass is an enemy of sorts, it's the performance and recovery that I am looking for, hence the tendency to seek out milder alternatives to a "real" cycle like HcG could have been.

And Agreed - the knowledge on these forums is outstanding. I appreciate you guys throwing your hat in the ring and speaking your mind.

Cheers
