How fast is animal-protein digested?

Just wondering since I'm looking for an alternative to a caseinate shake before bed for a slow-digest protein...Would a few chicken breasts do the trick also or are they digested quickly?

Steak or whole eggs are good alternatives.

Don't worry about trying to stay anabolic all the way through the night. Cottage cheese, steak, whatever is fine.

The actual process of using being slightly catabolic at night is important for growth the next day. your not going to shrink -

I am certainly not disagreeing with you, but why is that pro bodybuilders wake up once or twice throghout the night to eat?

I wake up half way during the night to consume a quick protein shake, it's old school like me, the idea is when you go sleep you go 8 hours without food, if you wake up half way you can get yourself a quick shake and your virtually eating throughout the entire day

Chicken breasts would be fine before bed. Not all animal proteins are digest at the same rate. Egg whites, for example, are digested alot fast than red meat.
