How Important are Vegetables??

I definatly know a huge whole in my diet is my veggie intake. How essential are vegetables in bodybuilding, and do you guys think it will really hinder gains if you are not consuming enough of them?

If you cut out veggies, you're cutting out fiber and some of the best carbs. Not to mention the vitamins and minerals.

Why cant you work in some? Just buy frozen and microwave it, its not the best but its better than nothing.

If your serious about your goals, you will add in veggies. Any good bodybuilding diet will include them.

Is this a serious question, hey blondie sorry that girl never made a account, her loss. she got third out of 20! i told her to talk to u if she wants 1st...lol

That's usually what I do..Most of the time I just nuke a can of green beans or spinach. I'm just concerned I don't eat enough of them Im gonna say around 10-15 servings a week.
And YES juice this is a seriouse question(thanks for adding something constructive)
What I want to know is if I double or triple up on the amounts of veggies will that really make a differance?
The reason I dont consume enough is because on my bulk, I focus real hard on stuffing my face with calories, so I tend to neglect the greens!

so you stuff your face with 300g of protien a day and expect it to push itself out??

guys we eat alotta meat... alotta food all together...

besides the good carbs and micronutrient content that our body gains from them, they help keep things moving.. soluable and insoluable fibers will promote a healthy digestive system..

then some guys come at me and wonder why they have horrible gas when they up their protien.. there are no veggies in their diets at all.. go eat 2 cups of broccoli daily and after your digestive system has caught up with where it needs to be all that crap will be minimized...

at least 2 salads a day.. that's how i see it.. and im not talking ceasar boys.. high fiber garden salads with spinach, bell peppers, brocolli, cauliflower, etc.. anything green and fiberous... hard to break down.. thats what keeps things moving...

thats all i eat I am a veggie... vegetarian that is hehehe but i put on 40lb in the passed 5 yrs of muscle and lost some fat so to the big mouths: STFU lol :-P

i wanna see ur diet... bad...

iv always been curious as to how veggie bbers go about eating.. if u have the time it would be great!!

Vegetables are valuable in maintaining alkaline reserve in the body. They are valued mainly for their high vitamin and mineral contents. Vitamins A, B and C are contained in vegetables in fair amounts. Faulty cooking and prolonged careless storage can, however, destroy these valuable elements.

There are different kinds of vegetables. They may be edible roots, stems, leaves, fruits and seeds. Each group contributes to diet in its own way Fleshy roots are high in energy value and good sources of vitamin B group. Seeds are relatively high in carbohydrates and proteins. Leaves, steam and fruits are excellent sources of minerals, vitamins, water and roughage.

It is not the green vegetables only that are useful. Farinaceous vegetables consisting of starchy roots such as potatoes, sweet potatoes, the tubers and legumes are also valuable. They are excellent sources of carbohydrates and provide energy to the body.
