How much fat to slow down...

Hey. Does anyone know how much lets say 5g of fat (omega-3) would slow down a casein protein? For how many hours?
 
I don't know if you are going to get the answer you are looking for, I hope someone can help you out.

But casein is already a slower digesting protein. I'm sure adding fat will help, but I don't think it will have a huge impact if thats what you are getting at.
 
No, im not looking for a huge impact, allthough it would be nice to know. It is better to get a full nights sleep then to get up and get a protein shake.
I´ve tried searching in pubmed without any luck, but then I suck at searching :)
 
Here is what I do:

Make a shake and drink it before bed.
Make another one and store it in the fridge.
If you wake up in the middle of the night, drink it.
If you don't wake up in the middle of the night...leave the shake and drink it the next day.

IMO that extra sleep is more important than the shake. Don't set an alarm or anything, but if you wake up to pee, have the shake.
 
Yeah thats what i do, well i make it when im gonna drink it because the protein detteriorates(spelling is wack), and will be more or less useless?
 
I´ve read some studies that say so, will try to find them for you.

Ok i get up often to take a piss in the night and then I always drink a shake, but... those times when I sleep through the night I´d like to know how much fat that should be used, Omega 3 that is.
 
From what I've read, it takes some time for protein to degrade. If you drink it within eight hours, you should be fine, from my understanding anyway.
 
I agree w/easto. And the fats prob. won't make all that big an impact. U're not gonna shrink over night bro. Don't sweat the small stuff.
 
Bro´s, thanks for youre imput.. but the thing is i know that protein denature´s itself when being ready blended. I will look up some studies on this.

And the small things are the once that count if youre looking to compete soon.
