I like that as a loose guideline and it is approximately the amount of protein I shoot for. You'll get various opinions but I prefer to err on the side of too much protein rather than not enough.
1.5 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight for me is about 300 grams of protein per day.
I've done more than 1.5 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight per day, and gained when I did it. I just can't be sure that I gained any more than I would have at 1.5 grams per day. I consider 1.5 to be a guideline.
Go for 6 meals at only 50 grams of protein a sitting, thats nothing for 260lbs. That should keep you very anabolic and make your system fight for the next meal which will help you burn fat. What is your target weight and BF%?
How about Carbs? If your cutting how many carbs should you take in?
Im working 8-9 hrs a day (on my feet, not behind a desk), and running and or lifting 3-5 times a week. I weigh 185 lbs. About how many carbs should I aim for?
The normal carbohidrate amound is 2-3 g per bodyweight in lbs.
When you are cutting it depends on your goals.
tell us your stats weight, height, BF....

5'10 1/2'' 185lbs... Body Fat dont know for sure could be anywhere from 18-23%
I would guess but I would think right around 20%.. I am looking to cut down to 15% as a base then go from there, eventually would like to get down to 12% or so but know that would take a while. Im in the process of putting a diet together and am curious about the carb intake I should be consuming.
