Is Kimbo Slice good enough for UFC?

The Ultimate fighter finals are on tonight and there lining Kimbo against Houston Alexander. Dude, HA is a bad dude with a whole lot of experience, if Kimbo rocks Alexander he's good enough in my book, although I wasn't impressed with his performance on the show. I hope he learned enough to make this an entertaining fight.

That fatass "Big Country," is just too fat and too slow, the dude sucks imo. I think Brandon Schaub is gonna fuck him up mos def.
 
Big Country can hold is own imo. He was IFL champ and did hang in there with Andrei Arlovski who's got great hands despite his glass chin.


Kimbo on the other hand I do not believe can hang in the UFC. Even if he beats Houston, HA should have been cut for his 3 straight losses. Both guys have half decent hands and no ground game. Houston has a great clinch though.
 
kimbo is a ghetto fighter ... he is too old ... he would last under a minute with any halfway decent fighter as you seen when ke got KO'd by the usa karate champion... Kimbo is a punk...
 
Kimbo won't be a title contender. Time isn't on his side.

I think he has the athletic ability and size to be good, but he spent so many years as a backyard brawler. He has tightened up his standup, but his ground game is real bad. I don't think he has time to get good enough on the ground to be a top 10 or top 15 fighter.

If he keeps improving he will be good, but not great.

There are too many good wrestlers at HW and a wrestler will destroy Kimbo.
 
Fuck that, that was a sorry excuse for a fight. I was actually hoping the guys at ATT taught Kimbo something, but it is what they say: you cant teach an old dog new tricks. I mean u can't even count the first round cause neither one did shit, so going "the whole 3 rounds" is a huge overstatement. Unless he can REALLY improve his conditioning and training, I don't see him hanging with the big boys in the UFC. Sorry guy, this just aint your scene.:nonono2:

With all due respect Diesel, If you dont think that Alexander is a half way decent fighter then you dont know dick about MMA.

I agree to the fact that Kimbo will most likely not be a top contender if he keep training with ATT he has a chance to beat a lot of the guys in the UFC. Only problem is, as mentioned with his age, He probably only has another 6 years if that to be any decent in the octagon.

There are too many young bucks comming up in the game...
 
With his PPV draw potential, I see the ufc keeping him around to fight some cans but he will never be more than a gatekeeper. Don't get me wrong, had he started years ago, he could have been a legit lightheavyweight, but he has no chance being such a small heavyweight

He's shit, plain and simple.
Usually the smaller HW's have the advantage of being more athletic and better cardio.

He has neither of these advantages over the rest of the HW division and if anything worse cardio than most.

His former trainer Bas Rutten said Kimbo wouldn't amount to anything because the's stubborn and lazy.

Bas is one of the best, most respected coaches in the history of MMA, so what he says is a good indication of what will happen.

Bas Rutten is the man. I like his show on HDNET "Inside MMA"
 
Kimbo can provide some interesting fights if they make the right match ups. We want to see him against strikers obviously. He threw some vicious body shots. I still haven't see him knock anybody out though. Not sure his power translates so well with gloves on. He seems to be working hard to make improvements, but age is against him and his cardio is weak. Houston Alexander was not cut due to his losses before, because he had exciting fights. Now this dancing around strategy ruined the fight for me. Glad to see Big Country do something besides lay on a guy. Again, being exciting is important for your fans, not just winning. "Bones" Jones looked very exciting at 22 years old he has some potential.
 
kimbo needs to stay where he came from...not the backyard...being the doorman and "supposedly bodyguard" for street porn.

in 0'7 kimbo declined a fight with my buddy in nyc. kimbo chooses and picks his fights wisely. u get no credit for fighting bums off the street. ufc only brought him to bring more viewers to the table. the man is garbage. surprised most of u don't see that.

He may look "old" but he sure as hell isn't, he just can't do anything but lie down when on the ground. I think someone said like a turtle on his back, and thats what he looks like.

I was hoping to see better from him.
 
I agree Kimbo is overrated. He has a bad leg too.. that won't get him very far against a kicker.
