Maximum amount of carbs per meal?

massive

Hi, im planning on bulking again soon, and was thinkin of only consuming my total carb intake in 3meals (morning, pre and post workout)

Now on an average bulking diet try to consume at least 3g carbs per lb bodyweight. Is ok within 3 meals though? whats the max amount of that I could digest in one time without it getting stored as fat? Including the maximum amount of carbs that can be consumed pwo.

The rest of my daily meals will consist of protein and fats.

Am looking for good quality lean mass bulking.

Well assuming you're 200lbs and you consume 3g of carbs/lb of body weight, you're going to be eating 200g of carbs at each one of your 3 carb meals... What's wrong with splitting that up into 6 meals a day at 100g/meal. If you are bulking, quality gains are going to come slowly and steadily. I would not try and smash all your carbs into 3 meals a day.

currently 228lbs and rising, competed last week. Normally hover around 250-260lbs when bulking. When I eat constant carbs I get too much bloat, im talking 40" and abs visible, not a pretty site ha.

The way I see it is that you only carbs for energy and weight training, so morning when im depleted refuel and refuel again before gym to fuel my workout then replenish glycogen after training. The rest of my cals can come in the form of healthy fats and proteins. Il still be hitting 5000cals per day aswel, and hopefully this way I wont be getting all the bloat of constant digestion of carbs.

Well thats the plan anyways.

Just wondering if I could consume say 200g carbs per meal, morning and post workout and pre-workout would mainly come in the form of pure vitargo complex carb shake. So I wouldnt be bloated off all the carbs and and they are easily absorbed into the body fast aswel without any of the bloat.

what do you think?

Have you considered lowering your carb intake? At the end of the day carbs are really just fuel. If you only need X amount of fuel, any extra is not going to benefit you in the form of increased energy. IE, diminishing returns.

Depending on how long your off season is, you could take some time to play with carb manipulation and figure out where your "break point" for carb intake is...and keep it there. From that point, you can adjust the frequency. If you required extra calories, that could come from fat - which is very easy to consume in small portions.

I really agree with that. The thing is that everyone is soo different with regards to carb intake. For me, if I want to stay lean, I need to keep my carb intake pretty low because I am pretty carb sensitive. Dave Tate carb cycles with over 1,200g in a day and sees no negatives from that.

I personally think you'd be better off consuming slow burning carbs throughout the day rather than massive amounts of carbs 3x a day.

Remember one thing though... You know you better than anyone else, so you are really the deciding factor in all of this.

Yes milkman I am the deciding factor at the end of the day. i do agree that 200g in 3meals is alot. I think pwo shake 200g is more than enough.

I will stay with the 3 carb meals though, il lower my breakfast to 150g (100g complex and 50g simple) pre-workout 100g complex and 200g pwo simple. total carbs 450g. depending on how my results come then i might add another carb meal after pwo consisting of 100g upping total to 550g carbs.

again if i need to up calories i can increase fat intake and see how my body reacts or go with the extra carb meal.

Thanks for input
