Maximum protein absorbtion?

Well, I finally have my protein in line. 180-200 Grams of protein a day.

It seams as if my body might not be aborbing it all, becuase i'm shitting a lot more.

Does everyone have a specific amount of protein their body can absorb?

the excess doodie may just be from eating mroe food in general

the key with anything is to make slow adjustments and let the body become accustomed to taking in that food..

lets say you are eating 180g of pro right now and you want to gain size and feel you need 300. DO NOT just add in 100g of pro rather your best bet would be to go up to 200-220 for 2 weeks or so then up to 250 for 2 weeks then try to get close to 300..also works the same way when reducing cals dont just go from bulking to cutting ..

sorry that my answer isnt very scientific

Yeah i don't think i'd ever want to go to 300 grams of protein.

My diet is more or less like this

Morning: Shake w 1/2 cup oatmeal, 8oz milk = 63 grams
Lunch: 2 cans of tuna, plain- 72 grams of protein
Post workout: Shake 1/2 cup oatmeal, 8oz milk = 63 grams
Dinner: Salad, maybe some broiled chicken..

why would you NOT want to eat 300g of pro/day?
im not telling you thats what you need but to flat out say you wouldnt??

thats not the best diet so you really only eat 1 solid food meal/day and occasionally you have 2? should use more whole foods and shakes to supplement not as ur main source

I always thought it was 1g per lb of bodyweight? I didn't realize you were telling me i needed it either.

I straight up don't think my body could handle more protein. It's also to the point where eating is a chore. My body is used to functioning around 1500 calories a day, and now i'm probably at 2500 at most.

If I don't see any results, i'll up it.

IMO I don't agree with the whole protein absorption thing.I don't think pro bodybuilders worry about that either.Just look at the huge amount of protein they have to take to maintain and build up muscle tissue. If they did worry about absorption they would have to eat 20-25 or more small meals to maintain muscle and that's just not practical.I remember the myth that the body cannot absorb more than 30g of protein at once and that's just plain BS.

that's not such an old myth.....i took some basic health/nutrition class at my college for an easy A, and the teacher swore up and down that the body could only digest/process/use roughly 30-40g's of protein per day.

it even listed that in the book which was written/updated this past year.....

i tried to argue my point.....he wouldn't listen, i still got my A :shoot2:

lets remember everyone is different. some people can some people cant some people just wont

yeah, i have a hard time believing that my protein absorbtion is the same as a eighty year old woman. shit people used to have to go without protein for days at a time , then they'd come across an animal and consume say 150 grams at one sitting. i doubt that the body would only assimilate 30 grams of that. i think that that idea is flawed.
