Hey guys, so I injected in my glute last week, on mon. I don't think I got all my gear in the muscle, I think .5-.25cc in the fat. As I was pulling out the needle I had more gear left in there and was still pushing down on the plunger. I had a bit more blood then usual when the needle came out.

Anyways its been nearly a week now and I have a hard lump thats the size of a golf ball in the glute, it may have gotten a little better, its difficult to tell. I was thinking maybe its a sterile abscess, from f-ing up the the injection. So I was thinking about sticking a needle in there and see if I could pull anything out, or if anything was in there that needed to be pulled out. When I re-examined the glute in the mirror I noticed that I have a small bruise over the lump. The lump doesn't hurt, but I am concerned. What do you guys make of this? And what do you suggest I should do?

i dont understand what happened exactly? you injected subcutaneous? and pulled out the needle while you where pushing on the plunger?? why did you do that?!

which pin size do you use? how much cc where you injecting?

a lump of the size of a golf ball after one week is clearly a big problem..its one big lump.. i would go see a doc asap you probably have a sterile abcess.

Please go read www.spotinjections.com next time you inject and check how to do it properly because you are really doing it bad

I messed it up somehow, when I was injecting I didn't have my eye on the needle the whole time, towards the end when I looked down towards the needle I saw that .5 inches was out and fig it was like that for a matter of seconds. I used 23g 1 1/2 was injecting 3ml...was thinking about going to the ER or another doctor and telling him/her that i had penicillin injected in me and it didnt absorb, since this too would cause a sterile abscess. However are we sure thats what I am dealing with?

I wouldn't suggest lying to the doctor if you go see one. Have you put a heating pad on it and massaged the area? It is common to get some bleeding, discomfort and even a small bump if you are injecting and not holding the needle still.

Sparx you're totally right...last night before i went to bed i put an icy hit heating pad on it. Its now half the size, and a lot softer. I think i popped a vessel, which would explain the increased amount of blood, and my left hand was shaking a bit when injecting (i am a total righty). Not too worried, thx for the input guys

what he said

UPDATE: Just came back the ER, since is Sat over here and the doc offices are closed, told them I had tonsillitis and got a penicillin inj last week, they totally bought it. Said it was nothing, certainly not an abscess and that it will dissipate on its own. So they're ya have it, no big deal.
