when your trying to gain weight or muscle, you have to eat more. but how long does carbs, fat, and protein stay around in your body to be used for muscle growth before it turns into actual stored fat? if you eat a lot of them one day that you dont work out, how long will it still be useful, or should you not eat as much when you don't work out?

Your body starts to breakdown foods immediately - it is used by the body for whatever it needs.

It just doesn't sit around

You are probably not going to get an answer for this post.

I'll make it simple for you.

If you are trying to get big, then eat as much as you can, as often as you can. If you keep the diet relatively clean you shouldn't have to worry too much about gettting fat. Sure you may add a bit of fat, but you will gain a hell of a lot more muscle.

Aim for 2g of protein per pound of mass. Remember as your weight starts to climb, increase your protein intake.

Get as much protein as you can from FOOD, use protein powder as a SUPPLEMENT

Stay away from junk food. It's okay to have on occassion...Moderation.

Carbs: Oatmeal, Rice, Potatoes, Bread, Pasta, cereal, Bagel - all fine when trying to bulk.

Get your Good fats - olive oil, flax oil, fish oil

One more thing - EAT RED MEAT!
