I'm about to go to Army SERE school. Its basically the army's way of simulating you being a POW. So for at least 6 days I'll get no food and minimal rest. What supplements, if any, could I front load to reduce the amount of muscle I'll lose.

thanks ahead of time for the advice!

this is a hard question bro.
there is not really any thing you can take to front load.if you aint getting daily protein and enuff food then there aint much you can do,remember supplements are only there to supplement the daily diet

is SERE the navy seals place, i seen it on tv and god that training seems really hard,we have the SAS in britain and they kick ass

No SERE is the Army's survivla course...it stands for:

Survival
Evasion
Resistence
Escape

I kinda figured nothings gonna help. They say most people lose 15-20lbs, so I figure at least 5 will be muscle. Oh well, guess its part of the job!

You may be able to help the first few days by going to a low carb diet for 4 days, a week beforehand and then a high carb diet for the 3 days prior to the actual start. It will allow the body to supersaturate muscle glycogen and water levels. It may help you initially, but there's no way you are going to not lose weight and some msucle over the course of the training.

Well its over...i initially lost 17lbs, 5 is back on w/in 2 days so it was water. Of the last 12 I'm guess 60% is muscle...I didn't lose as much as I expected--well today is my first day back in the gym.

BTW, heres my diet for the last week!

Saturday-water and sasafrass leaves
Sunday-1 chicken leg and sassafrass leaves
Monday-1 cup of gatorade and sassafrass leaves
Tuesday-1 cup of gatorade, an apple, and wild strawberries(about a handful)
Wed- about 6oz of chicken jerkey
Thurdsday-water only
Friday- 2 ham sandwiches at 11pm and water
Saturday- chicken fajitas, DQ blizzard, outback steak and fries, 2 bags of starburst jelly beans(all w/in about 3 hours)!!!
