Hi, need some diet advice. Do you think that Dynamatize cereals would be a good post work out mesal after weight training? They have 7 different flavors. One, fiber crunch, has 12 grams of fiber so I have been using that in the morning as complex carbs. All other flavors have approximately 30 grams of carbs with very little fat or fiber. I am assuming the are high glycemic because they are basically sugar, rice, and white flour. They also have 25 grams of protein. I also add a scoop of protein powder and some dates to the ceralo to add some more high glycemic carbs and some more protein.

What do you think? I'm sick of protein shakes, I want some real food. I know its a bit unconventional but it seems to have the proper nutrient profile to be a good post work out meal.

sounds good i would go with maybe two servings though as i feel 30 grams is not enough for me.

You cant beat real food, not even for post workout meals.

Thanks ecke70. I feel the same way. By the time i am done adding my own ingrdients to the cereal, it is about 50 g protein, 65 g carbs, with no fat or fiber. The only question is are the cereals carbs high glycemic. The carbs I am adding certainly are. Dates have a glycemic index of 103.
I will call Dynamatize tommorrow to see if maybe they have some answers.

depends alot of cereal are loaded with sugar but some of the healthy ones might be based on oats. Im not familiar with dynamitize but even if its low gi you could easily get some sugar from raisins, honey, dried fruit and your good to go.

You say you want some real food then why aren't you eating it? Just have a normal meal you would have any other part of the day.

If not a large bowl of Frosted Mini Wheats with some milk and a couple scoops of protein powder isn't a bad idea at all and many people do it.

I wouldn't go out and spend the money on Dymantize cereal tho. Save your money to take a girl out on a date.

you could get the same kinda of nutrients in some real food and it would probably be cheaper. as for me i like to get liquid calories post workout, like a good "clean" gainer. i will still eat a good post workout meal like another hour later but i just feel like the liquid is used up faster and sent right where its needed, could be all in my mind! :)

Yes, liquid does get digested faster thats why there's protein shakes.

It's best after a workout to have a protein shake and some simple cards to quickly supply the muscles. I like honey in my protein shake personally.

The have a regular meal after a little while, with complex carbs, protein and a little fat.
