Not quite, but damn I hated these things when I was a kid now I love them. They are high in protein, as well as Omega 3 fatty acids. I recommend them as a snack, good tasting and good for you.

Do they come in a can or what?

I've never had the opportunity to have them without having to purchase them myself.

They come in a can, either packed in olive oil, tomato sauce, or mustard sauce. I prefer the mustard sauce.

The bones are soft because they are like minnows, usually the heads are gone and they have been gutted but the bones are tiny and not noticeable. They are very tasty, I even add them to spaghetti sauce--not for everyone but I like it that way.

hell yeah, sardines in mustard sauce are great. i usually have a pack or two a week. plus its great when other people smell them and puke.

I used to feed them to my cat, but the smell is too repellent for me to consider putting them in my mouth.

Same goes for anchovies.
