steroids to heal injuries

I am 40 and have never taken steroids but I am condidering them to help heal several sports related injuries. I have had a few injuries for 3 years and they won't heal.

Questions
1. Am I going down the right path? Will steroids help heal my body? If they do, which one would you reccomend

2. I called the doctor to have them prescribed. My testosterone needs to be at a certain level. Is there a way to lower levels in a blood test to get a script.

What type of injuries ???

There has been some people that do swear that it had a healing effect . My self I have been on test for almost 2 yrs . It has done nothing in the way of heal any of my injuries in the past .

Now I have a buddy that has his father on a very small amount Deca . For his joints , it seems to be doing very well .

Being 40 yrs your the perfect age for your test levels to go down . The signs are low sex drive , moody , loss of eating , energy levels low . For the most you feel really blaaa . Get some blood test done . Also include protein levels . if there down. Your in the catagory for taking HGH . This is the founation of youth for guys like us . I would recommend you look in the search engine here . It has lots of info on what HGH can do besides build muscle . Hope it helps you out just my .02 .

I think I read somewhere that test can hasten some healing,,,,,,but I don't know for sure. Like the guy above said, Deca can really help with joint and tendon problems. I did my first cycle at 41,,,,and have used deca in many cycles and it has helped my shoulders and tendonitis tremendously. Of course this is not a scientific conclusion, it could have been other things, but I am pretty sure it was the deca.

What kind of injuries do you have? Also, what kind of training experience do you have? Giving stats and history of yourself, others will be able to give more meaningful advice.

my training experience

I have trained with weights for 25 years
JiuJitsu and Karate training for 25 years. I just retired from JiuJitsu as this is where most of the injuries were being caused
Yoga 10years
I'm currently playing soccer in an adult league.

Height 5'9
Weight 179

I've tried everything from Ice/heat/RICE/ultrasound, massage, taking time off.

Injuries over the past 5 years where I still have re occuring pain are
2 knee surgeries
Dislocated sacrum from improper lifting
I've broken my ankle twice in the past year
Severe pain in my left elbow. I've been to several doctors and had an MRI but none of the doctors could conclusivley say what was causing the problem. I think it it tendonitis
I have tarsel tunnel syndrome in my left from a 3 day 300 mile bike ride. This occoured 4 years ago and I still have the main.

I think the majority of the injuries are tendon/ligament

In your case i doubt that any steroid would heal you, if you do wanna give gear a try then try anavar i wouldnt touch decca because at your age it would be very hard for you to recover after decca, just not worth it IMHO you should concentrate on a getting a good diet, eat vegetables and fruits, include nuts and seeds in your diet, you should stick with a good diet for six months and i think you will feel some difference, i also recommend flax seed oil.

I had a serious back surgery several years ago and did my next cycle about 6 weeks post-surgery (low-dose test and d-bol). The Test seemed to help the healing process. Studies have shown the high levels of exogeneous testosterone can increase bone density in men post 40 years of age, along with lean muscular development, etc. It may help, but don't count on it to be a total cure for your injuries. It may just speed up the healing process somewhat.

I had a rotator cuff problem in my left shoulder that was so bad I really couldn't lift my arm above my head. I tried quitting pressing for 5 weeks and when I started again, it had improved but came right back.

I finally ran a cycle that included test, deca, and gh for about 6 months. The pain went away pretty much immediately and the problem never came back.

This is absolutely true. I am 43 and deca shuts me down pretty hard. It takes me about 7 weeks to recover. But the benefits I have got as far as joint tendon pain was worth it for me. A personal choice.

i would imagine that if the injury is due to muscle imbalance, or a weak stabalizing muscle (rotator cuff) that steroids would help..

they increas muscle strength..

the important thing would be to do the correct excercises for your injury.

i've always wondered if physical therapy would be more beneficial on steroids.. like post knee operation,, or rotator cuff...

great thread,,, i hope more ppl share experiances

i have some back probs that seem to clear up while on cycle and dont come back till months later. A test cycle seems to d the trick for my back each time.

My injuries always get better when I'm on a cycle. I think it's the water in the joints that helps the pain... plus the fact of the muscles getting stronger. Overall, they definetely do help injuries. At 40 years old I would also say that HGH would help dramatically.

There are steroids out there that assist with inflamation or pain in certain joints. They do have some negative side effects though in the long run of use. With other steroids like deca, test, etc...imo, they are for building muscle and with the injuries you have mainly affecting your joints...you could be in for an even more serious problem. The best thing to do is talk to a physical therapist near you and ask when can be done.

My friend really screwed up his neck and back for life and they gave him steroid injections into the spine and they helped him out a lot. I think it just depends on the injury and how bad. I have heard of a lot of peope totally recovering from their iuries because of the steoids also..

LOL! They were using a different type of steroid mate. The type of steroids they used to inject into your friends spine were corticosteroids i.e. cortisone.

Deca, Anavar, Turanabol, and Test are primary healing.

Winstrol can help but use with Deca in my opinion!

D'bol helps works and helps by retaining more fluids in the joints.

I've had MANY epidural steroid injections... but it's cortico (cortizone) type steroids.
