Should you or should you not count these towards Total Carbs??? Mainly is it BS about most of the Atkins Foods like Protein Bars and Ice Creams saying they only count as 2 or 3 grams of carbs instead of the listed 15 or 20 grams of total carbs???

Sugar alcohols just dont have an effect on blood sugar but they still contain calories. I believe they actually contain more cals that regular sugar 7cals compared to 4 if Im not mistaken. Its all a flook bro good if watching insulin levels but not good if watching weight.

Yep, you're right.

You'd need to run a marathon to make up for a night of drinking, in terms of calories.

YUP thats why I will have like one drink and sip the shit out of that bitch all night and any mixed drinks I get are with diet cola like a Malibu and diet, good stuff.

thats bullshit!!!!! obviously its up to you the consumer to care about your health not the corps. it seems that they are all about you giving them your money.

Thanks for all the replys !! But, my main question was not about counting the calories; it was about counting all of the "Carbs" !!! Say you are on the CKD Diet. You get one of those protein bars and it says it has 23 total carbs, but, you only have to count 3g of carbs because you don't count the sugar alcohols!! Is this true or BS???

True sugar alcohols and fiber do not count against your intake because they have no effect on blood sugar. There is your answer.:)

they will probably not throw you out of ketosis, but they do add cals to your diet so they are not the best selection in the world

I would definitely agree that they are not the best source of food. There's far too much hidden crap in protein bars. Get your protein and whatnot from real whole foods. :)

I think the deal with sugar alcohol is that it won't throw you out of ketosis, but it WILL be the first thing your body has to burn for fuel. That's why drinking is supposed to be bad on a carbup, because the body has to take care of the alcohol before it can do anything with the carbs.
