Thanks Guys

I just wanted to say thank you to all the guys positing here, reading your stories have really helped me keep my spirits up over the past year and a half. It was about then that i got diagnosed with Low T, of course I had symptoms for years before, and nothing really seemed to help. I'm now 39, and have been on replacement therapy for about a year and a half. Unfortunately I have not noticed much of anything. At first my doctor put me on one tube of Testim 1%, and I was so excited that this was going to fix things for me. It turned out the monthly cost with my insurance was $350, so that did not work. At this point he sent me to a compounding pharmacy, and since then has raised my Test prescription 4 times. Then when I get tested my levels are always around 200. My last visit I just told him no more, I want to try Testim again. I have a new job, and new insurance. He prescribed the testim 1% 2 tubes a day. It even costs me only about $20 a month now. I just started on it yesterday, but I'm really hopeful for some good things, it does seem others here have had amazing success with it.

Thanks Again for your stories, and if you have any advice I would love to hear it. My Goal for this year is to get me test numbers into the normal range and lose 100 pounds.

And share all your lab results. For example, after all the reading you have been doing you know that E2 is important.

Have you tried injections?

My doctor says the injections are a waste, and do not work as well as the creams (which I'm sure is complete crap), however he is a good guy and if this does not work he is sending me to an Endo to get looked into more. So either way I think I'm heading in a positive direction. My last lab result had me at 105, that is the only thing he tested, my PSA was 0.2, and everything on my Metabolic panel was right around the middle of where it should be.

So after reading everything on this forum for the last year and a half, coupled with your Total T being below 200, why do you still think he is a "good guy" and he knows what he is doing?

IMO the creams are pretty much useless, all u have to do is search this forum for those that have used or started with cream & see that the results were horrible. Injections are the way to go & I suggest you split the injections to twice a week, it really helps keep my test levels nice & even. I also agree with the other members statements regarding your Dr. I think it's time to find one who knows more about trt. Good luck on your journey & keep us posted.

I would for sure agree that the cream was completely worthless, I did use the testim before for one month and my number went up to 500, this was only with one tube. If the two tubes do not work to get it up around 800 or so I will be referred to a new doc, and I will for sure be pushing for the injectables at that point since I have tried the compounded cream and the Testim gel. I feel good that I know I will be going in another direction if this last step does not work with my doc. I have seen many people swear by the injectable (and it would be way easier), however I have seen people that the Testim works for as well. I will keep you informed.

I have been using the Testim for a week and a half now, and all I can say about it (Since I have no bloodwork to back it up obviously) is that it is working great. I cannot even remember a time that I have felt so awake and energized. My mind is sharp, my body actually wants to work out. That never happened with the compounded cream. I sure hope it keeps up.
