why are carbs so important for bulking diet ? and how do you get enough ? Im 170lbs. and that means I should get 437 carbs to bulk, is this right?

rook.

Carbohydrates are sugars and starches. They are important because they give your body the energy it needs to exercise. Carbohydrates are stored in your muscles as glycogen, and glycogen is metabolized to produce the energy needed for muscle contraction. 437g is too much. For your size, 250-300g should be enough.

im also 170 on a cycle i take 500 g carbs is that to much......im up 10 in 2 weeks

It is hard to say if it is to much without knowing your body. The ten pounds is probably due to water retention. I think it is probably a bit to high though.

According to my calculation your only eating 2500 calories.
Protein: 175 g = 700 calories = 28 %
Carbs: 360 g = 1440 calories = 57,6 %
Fat: 40 g = 360 = 14,4 %
Total calorie intake: 2500.

IMO you should up your protein and fat intake. Your fat intake is ok but you could increase it to around 17 %. You should also increase your protein intake to at least 40 %. Allow yourself one cheat day/week when you can eat crap (chips, icecream etc.).

I agree as well!:)

When I'm trying to gain I eat about 500 to 600 grams of carbs. Aim for low glycemic like potatoes, yams and oatmeal. I always eat alot of whole wheat bread and pasta also. And don't forget your 100 grams of Dex after your workout.

I usually go for about 1.5-2 grams per lb of protein.

I try to keep fat down to a minimum except for omegas cause youre pumping insulin the whole day with all those carbs.

why is mass rookie need to ask what carbs are for if he's taking anadrol and test. Isn't this something you should have asked first before loading yourself up on drugs. Things that make you go hmm.

You guys need to read Chris Aceto's Championship Bodybuilding. You need a 3 to 1 ratio of carbs to protien. A 185lb man should be taking in 555g of carbs per day and 185g of protein. You should be taking in 525 grams of carbs regardless of your current fat percentage. Either if you fat or skinny this combination should put muscle on no matter what. You will need to train like the devil though. Don't sit on your ass all day. Train and train like there is no tommorow. You should have the energy to do it.

Carbs = Energy

Carbs are where your body gets its energy (glucose). If you don't have any carb glucose to use for energy then you body will convert protein into glucose (gluconeogenesis). You really need to spare your bodys protein supply for much better uses.
