What's the best amount of protein to have in a shake

If seen everything from 20-80 grams per shake. What would be the ideal amount?
Is 80 overkill?
Also if ur going to buy one type of protein what would u get. (ex. Whey, isolate)
I've always used 25g of protein and whey. I'm looking for a new one now
 
80 is overkill 25-35 should be good
cassien and soy release slower and
whey releases fast so it depends on
when your taking it
 
I dont think 80 is overkill. I put 4 scoops in my bedtime shake and thats 100g. I figure im gonna be without food for 8 hours so my body will probably make use of most of it.
 
Id say 40-50grams of protein is probably a good amount. Not the maximum obviously but good enough. Whey Isolate is probably the best, but Isolate, Concentrate blends are cheaper and just as good for me. I use All They Whey and RSS proteins.

Do u have any specific one u suggest? I can only find ones around 25 and 80 right now haha.

i had an exercise phys class in college that explored this same question. case studies were provided for professors rationalization. I cannot remember what the amount was, but it was far less than I expected. probably 20-30g. Im sure a search would dig up quite a few studies on this matter. The fact is, the body can only use so much after that, its gonna convert the amino to glucose for energy where needed, then the leftover of that will be converted to glycogen and adipose
