Whey Protein

I'm new to supplements guys, and I'm actually looking to get a little bigger but I can't seem to find the time to get some decent protein intake in.. so My solution is the easy way out - supplements!

I was hoping one of you could direct me to a website containing the "all you need to know" about whey protein, if not maybe a few of you could answer the basic questions I got here:

1) Are there any side effects to using whey protein?

2) If I stop using it after I run out will my body muscle become flabby or anything simliar?

3) Do you have to follow a strict diet if taking supplements like this?

4) Is whey protein really worth the money? and does it make my muscle "strong" or is it gonna be "show"? Cause I've heard, it may be false, that some supplements just like, store a shitload of water in your muscles inflating them so that they look, and are big... but are weak and not as strong as they look.

Lastly, if any of you would like to add something you think I should know I'd be much abliged.

Thanks guys.

1) Whey Protein concentrate tends to leave you bloated and give you the shits for the first couple weeks, taking a whey isolate alleviates this problem in most.

2) Will your body become flabby after you stop eating chicken breasts all day long?

3) Depends on your goals, check out the diet forum for a ton on information

4) false, you need protein bro. Taking 45g of whey protein absorbs faster than any other protein and a whole lot easier than eating all of the meat.

5) Try taking as a rule of thumb, 1g protein per pound of bodyweight. Most of your daily protein consumption should not come from whey though...

No sides, u wont get "the shits" if you dont have a weak stomache :)
u HAVE to have extra protein if u want to gain as good as u can.
I would go with optimums 100% whey.

Sorry, I'm new to this supplement stuff... what is a "whey isolate" and how does a whey isolate make this problem more bearable?

Thanks for the replies, too, guys.

Using a whey only protein is only optimal pre-post workout, or upon rising. Other times you need something that is absorbed over a longer period of time. Either a blended protein with whey, milk and/or egg.
Or mix you whey with milk and drink it.
