Will sugar ruin my cut?

Trying to grab the science behind it more so as I drink atleast 1 energy drink most days (not sugar free haha) so would a bit of sugar really ruin my diet? They'e only 250ml cans, 100 calories but yes, sugar. So why would this be so bad?

I don't think it will completely ruin your diet..
Not 1 drink. It def won't help you in efforts
to get leaner though.
The only time I eat simple carbs is PWO with my shake.
 
But will the 'random' insulin spikes cause my body to store fat rather than burn it?
I read something along those lines somewhere but can't remember where it was.
 
Like JMB said, 1 drink in all likelihood will not kill your cut but the better question would be, Is this one drink worth all the extra effort im putting in? I could understand a cheat meal or maybe even a cheat day but i wouldn't eat a piece of cake everyday or a candy bar or even a drink with sugar.

Best bet IMHO is to change that drink to something without sugar.

As far as storing the fat, some are better qualified than me to answer but if your having this drink pwo its probably ok. Otherwise my guess is yes it probably is stored as fat but maybe 3J can chime in.
 
Spiking your insulin multiple times a day with simple sugars (energy drinks for you) is not helpful in fat burning. Keeping your blood sugar stable with complex carbs is key. Perhaps replace the energy drink with black coffee. One hundred calories of simple sugar = 25g carbs - insignificant.

Maybe try the lo carb, sugar free energy drinks. It's what I do once a week or so. Only 10 calories according to the nutrition info
 
Not looking for alternatives though just the science behind what drinking a sugary energy drink does :)
