20 week cycle vs 16 week?

Strong Man

Over Train
So i'm on my Test E cycle (500mg a week) and I'm coming up on the 16th week and i'm getting all kinds of strength gains in the gym. My question is how many of you guys have ran a 20 week cycle and how was the recovery? I don't want to have a bad recovery and suppress my test levels to bad.

Iv'e ran HCG 500iu weekly and arimidex .5 eod. I have zero bloat or and bad sides, besides acne on my chest and back. This is my 5th cycle and have recovered fine from the past but only ran a cycle up to 15 weeks before. What do you more experience guy think about a 20 week Test only cycle and the recovery and long term effects. Is it worth it or should I just stick to the plan and stop at 16 weeks? Thanks

I have not had any blood work done on this cycle.

You gotta remember that 16 weeks is really 18 weeks cause of how long it takes for the ester to clear your system. 20 weeks is really 22. I am doing my cycle for 16 weeks but that's cause my gains start to taper off after week 12 and I use those few weeks to solidify gains. If I was still gaining then I would keep it up, but I am not the safest guy in the world, haha.

Yea my last cycle I noticed that my gains started to taper off around the 12th week to, but this cycle I keep gaining strength every week.

I'm not to familiar with the process since I just started to take test C for my low T, but from everything I've read; very little gains are made after the 12th week.

William Llewellyn's "Anabolics" says that you should never run a cycle longer than 12 weeks.
L. Rea's book called, "Chemical Muscle Enhancement" says that 16 plus weeks is fine.

Just some references so you could be even more confused lol

Well gains are not my concern as I'm getting gain every week but my question is about the recovery

I will take a look at that

it being your 5th cycle i don't really see a problem extending it to 20 weeks. i would maybe run post cycle therapy (pct) a lil longer just to be safe lets say clomid at 100/100/50/50/50/50 and nolva at 40/40/20/20/20/20. only time i ever went 20 weeks thats what i did and it got me almost where i wanted to be. prolly took 2-4 weeks after my post cycle therapy (pct) till i was completely recovered

I've ran a couple 6+ month cycles before and was fully recovered(according to bloodwork) by 6 weeks after last pin. Just run hcg the whole cycle(which you are), good hcg blast before post cycle therapy (pct), and clomid/nolva pct.

Yea that's a good point on running the post cycle therapy (pct) for longer If i go to 20 weeks.

Yea I plan to blast HCG before post cycle therapy (pct) and I have Nolva/Clomid...

Honestly, I have ran a couple of 20 week cycles. I wouldn't stress about it too much and just run it 20 weeks if you are enjoying it. That is, if every thing looks good on blood work. Honestly, there isn't anything that shows a difference in recovery from 16 weeks to 20 weeks. That data is very subjective and hard to find. Remember, a guy can run a 4 week Test prop cycle and never recover. Another guy can run a 30 week cycle and PCT and recover fine. It is just a gamble. I cycled enough over the years and I am now on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for life. It just depends on the person. However, I would run it 20 weeks if you feel you are still gaining. Like I always tell guys, make sure you are getting blood work and make sure you are checking your liver, kidney values and your blood pressure.

what do you guys recommend as far as the length of someone going through their 2nd cycle? I hear a variety of opinions, but you all seem experienced in trying different lengths. my first cycle was 10 weeks and definitely saw gains constantly even after 2 weeks post of last AAS administration. i have Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG), clomid and nolva all headed my way. i am going by what my instinct tells me though (do 10 weeks again), and I rather rely on some experience.

My first Cycle I ran was 12 weeks Test E, post cycle therapy (pct) was Torm. My second cycle was 20 week test E and 10 weeks of NPP. Also I ran HCG through out and post cycle therapy (pct) was the standard Nolva/Clomid combo. I felt my recovery was much smoother the on the second cycle. I am sure it was because of post cycle therapy (pct). I guess my point is between 16 and 20 weeks I do not think you will notice much of a difference in recovery. But everyone is different and the biggest factor is a proper post cycle therapy (pct) and your age.
