Hey guys, I'm knew to the site but I do have an issue that's been of some concern to me. I'm 20 years old and I've been lifting for a while. This past week I've gotten an exertion headache during three different days, the last one being the most painful and longest lasting.
The first time I got the headache, it was while attempting to push out a last rep on a leg press, I was exerting really hard and held my breath, making the headache understandable. It was gone with in 20 or so minutes and I was able to finish my workout. A couple of days later, I got an exertion headache during my 2nd set of DB shoulder press, again during my third set, and then throughout my set of upright rows. This one was a bit sharper and lasted a little bit longer, maybe 45mins. The third headache occurred a couple of days after that, when I was doing my 2nd set of deadlifts (I was pretty light, warmed up properly, going 185 x 10 and I was breathing right, didn't feel like I was exerting myself at all). This one was very painful and completely knocked me out of the workout. I had the headache for the most part of the day, until I went to bed, lasting me around 8 hours.
I've had one rest day since then and I'm pretty worried I'm going to get another one tomorrow when I lift. I've been cutting weight, but my diet has been the same for a while and this is the first time I'm getting these headaches. My form hasn't changed at all, the only notable change that I can think of is that I stopped taking creatine monohydrate as of the beginning of last week, but my water consumption has remained the same.
How do I get rid of these headaches? They're located on the right side of my head, right where my neck and skull meet. It feels like a stabbing pain almost.
