according to the harris & benedict equasion i need just under 3,000 cals a day to gain weight . my question is if im consuming 3,000 cals a day in protein/veggies/fats at roughly 40/40/20 would i still make gains the only meal that would provide any starchy carbs would be breaky . i rotate my carbs anyway but im just curious .
Thanks

That's a good question. I'd say, yes.

I always figured that it was a matter of calories in versus calories out on the matter of weight loss/gain.

When I am on top of my diet and I am concerned about losing fat or adding lean weight, I have kept the high glycemic carbs post workout and the starchy carbs in the am hours or early afternoon the latest.

In addition, when I am in good dietary form, I also calorie cycle. So, in your situation, I'd do 2 days of weight-gain intake and then one day of maintenance/slight decifit, and then repeat.
