Advice on my lab results PLEASE

Hey guys,

This is my first post and there seems to be some fairly knowledgable people on the subject of testosterone in this forum so I kindly ask for your advice. I am a 23 year old male btw.

I've been suffering with constant mood swings throughout the day along with depression, hot flashes, extreme irritability and I mean extreme which leads to anger and really for no reason at all. Also my clarity of thought is GONE, my memory is gone, I have no sex drive, I'm constantly fatigued and tired. Never feel like going out or doing anything. I hate this and it's taking a toll on my relationships with family and especially my gf. I don't get it, I've been to therapy, tried anti depressants, spiritual approaches, vitamin regimens, diet/excersise, etc.

Through due diligence I discovered the symptoms relate to low t so with a complete shot in the dark I asked my doc to test my T levels and he said it was completely unrealistic for someone my age to have low testosterone levels. It took some convincing but I got him to test it.

He called me at 8pm one night apologizing saying my lab results had come in and my free test was 29.9 on a scale of 31-94. And he agreed to send me to an endocrinologist.

Alas, I've finally discovered the root of my ailments I thought and was excited for my endo appointment 3 months away.

This old endo on the brink of retirement called me in from the waiting room and laughed at my self diagnosis and tries to dismiss me as if I was wasting his time and I said my numbers are out of the range. He told me the doc "never sent over the lab" and that he would do his own tests if I was so inclined.

The numbers from that lab are as follows:

(23 Year old male)

LH SERUM "3.6" "1.2 - 8.6" IU/L

FSH SERUM "3.4" "1.3 - 19.3 IU/L

TESTOSTERONE "12.1" "6.0 - 27" NMOL/L

FREE TESTOSTERONE "40.8" "31 - 94" PMOL/L

THYROTROPIN "1.74" "0.35 - 5.00" mIU/L

FREE THRYROXINE "16" "9 - 23" PMOL/L

Now these numbers seem a bit higher but still fairly low for my age I'm assuming.. That's why I'm asking for your advice. Keep in mind the first test I got was 29.9 on a scale of 31-94 for free testosterone.

After seeing these he snidely said see I told you you're fine and dismissed me.

I felt crushed after waiting that long for such a brisk analysis.

At the time I didn't know any better and felt deflated thinking my levels were normal and stopped looking into testosterone as the cause of my problems.

I came across an article by dr. Larry Komer talking about optimal levels being beneficial and that blood tests are often inaccurate. Turns out he runs "masters men's clinic" in Burlington, Ontario which is about 40 minutes from my house conveniently and I booked an appointment which I now have and is 8 months away. :(

From what I hear this doctor is a guru in testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and I'm excited but anxious for the appointment which is so far away. I don't know why I'm going to do until then my life is aweful right now.

Anyways if you guys could please give me some hope or advice/wisdom I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you kindly for your time

Ben

Hey Ben,

Have gone through very similar situation. Not sure if my low test was due to cycle I have done (deca and anavar) or dieting to an extreme for a long time. It took about 1.5years of doctors appointments, but they now have me on 2 andriol tabs a day. Very low does, but my levels are now in mid range. Which I still think is low. I am 28 and this shit all started when I was about 25. How did you get your appointment? I live in Toronto

Hey sashosean, Just google "masters mens clinic" and it should be the first thing that pops up and they will have phone numbers under contact and everything else.

Just to let you know you need a referral from your GP.

Good luck man, wish more people gave their opinions on my lab results

Ben

Geez, 8 months, that blows, plenty of time to run a cycle though and see if it helps...

Hey flyrs, thanks for responding,

What do you think of my levels for my age in relation to my symptoms?

I would really appreciate some input on my bloodwork.

Thanks,

Ben

It would be nice if your test level was higher but I'm not sure testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is the answer for you. There are other things to check too, like your thyroid and vitamin d levels. Vitamin d seems to help have more free test.
