Quick side note (for halfwit): I forgot to mention Claymore. Surprisingly decent series that I wished they made longer. Its about 26 episodes long.

Been talking with halfwit about different anime's and decided it was time for a thread, as I think we have a few people here that are into it. Cartoons are welcome of course. So what makes a good anime. Does the arcs need to be filled with a compelling story line or just decent action or whatever? For me if the characters have a strong honor code be it evil or good I typically like the anime. A strong story line is great but not always a must have. For ex.: A character that loves fighting and killing but won't kill someone who isn't on his skill level, would be an example of an honor code skewed towards evil but still is good (sorta).

List your must watches, and likes if possible.

Well I've been waiting for u start this thread. I like the honor code as well. But I need a strong story to go with it or I get bored quickly. Couple anime I like:

Elfen lied- check it out. Bad ass but only one season

Edit: bad ass weapons and superpowers are a must which is why Bleach is number one

Crikey, I have some serious downloading to do this week! I've heard of most of the ones posted by Kaname and Vino, but didn't know Devil May Cry was an anime! I really dug the game, so maybe it'll be a good watch! I definitely agree with the honor code and values in Bleach/FMA as I think it takes a bigger man to let his enemy be on equal footing rather than squash him while he's down. (Obviously this doesn't apply to real life :p)
 
I just watched the first episode of High School of the Dead.... Man do I love big tits and panty shots in my anime... And it's full of them. Thanks hulltech!

I can't believe I forgot about Devil May Cry....It was really good. I want to say it's a short series though if I'm not mistaken, which sucks. OOOOOOOO and Heat Guy J, that was another one I liked. I wouldn't list it in my must watches but Devil May Cry could easily get a spot there.
 
Wait, it's gets SOOOO much better, and there is at least 1 OVA that's smokin' hot. the manga has just started up again after ~ 6 months off.

re: Claymore, mangareader.net has the full ongoing series.. ~138 chapters so far.
