Anyone on TRT take other meds?

I'm curious if people take other meds while being on TRT? For examply, I'm not on TRT yet but soon will be but I take depression and anxiety meds.

Seroquel 800mg
Zyprexa 20mg
Klonipin 3mg/day
Xanax 4mg/day

Would these meds interfere with TRT meds? Is it safe to take TRT meds with psy meds? Maybe IMT can chime in and let us know...if anyone else feels like breaking their anonymity about taking meds it would be really helpful for my information. Thanks!
 
Why kpins and Xanax? Does the same doctor prescribe both meds? Coming from a place of concern and not judgement, as somebody who's beaten a Benzo addiction- do you think you may have a problem? That amount of benzos would take months to come off of.

We're not doctors here, so best for you to ask one. In my non professional opinion, TRT shouldn't interfere with your current meds. The bigger health concern is the amount of meds you're currently taking.

You've been on the boards for some time- have you cycled? If you have while on your current meds without issue, then trt won't be a problem.

I'm not addicted nor do I abuse them. I'm legitimately prescribed these meds and take them as directed. I have a terrible anxiety problem that is put away with this med regimen. I would like to take the least amount as possible but this is what I have worked out with the doctor.
 
Very happy to hear. I was just unclear as to why he's prescribed you both benzos as they function in an almost identical way.

Anxiety sucks and should be treated. Benzos must be respected. They're the only drug besides alcohol that can kill you from withdraw.

I've done a cycle before but only completed half way then chickened out. I would like to do one in the future, but we'll see...

TRT has helped many Hypogonadal guys get off the depression and anxiety meds. Hopefully you will be as fortunate.
 
During the 4 months before I started TRT, when my low T symptoms were at their peak, I was completely unstable. No ability to manage my moods, very little control of my feelings and no motivation to do anything.

Don't underestimate the adverse effects of being hypogonadal. Speaking of which, what are your natural test levels at?

I'll have my blood work back from labcorp tomorrow and share them with the forum but i suspect they're low...

OP I have extensive experience with some of your meds and more experience with numerous other meds for my Bi-Polar Type I disorder as well as Borderline Personality Psychosis.

I have never experienced AAS to interferer directly with the medication but however it can interfere with your disorders. This I say with caution to what your problems are.

Exogenous Test can have some emotional problems for SOME, just like any other body and mind altering substance. You see some of the more stable people think that AAS doesn't effect their aggression and their anxiety highs and lows because they for the most part living a more straight line of mood swings , mania and depression. They for the most part live with little fluctuation from what I call the equator line. While we or me fluctuate up and down to vey high and very low hence North Pole and south Pole. Those people are lucky when doing steroids because the don't have exaggerated mood swings made greater by steroids.

To get to it as long as the meds are working correctly and doing what they are prescribed to do, AAS will not exasperate any more problems. But remember if you are prone to the problems for which you are cared for, this is the week point and not the meds. AAS does not make them stronger or weaker.
 
I get pretty bad anxiety and I feel like TRT makes my anxiety almost non existant when my estrogen is dialed in right, but if my estrogen gets out of ballance at all my anxiety gets way worse. So I suggest really keeping your hormones in ballance and try to keep your estrogen or testosterone from fluctuating.

Im on Suboxone, and lisinapro for blood pressure. i would try and get off that seroquel if you can. I was on it for 5 years and that shits crazy especially if you drink boos on it. I was prescribed it for sleeping. Its not to difficult to stop if you slowly wein off it but i was only on 300mg daily

We're all different, but I've been on the three latter meds at much higher doses than what you're taking. I'm no longer on any of those as hypogonadism is what gave me anxiety/depression/malaise/RLS.

Hoping that you're lucky and it's as simple as testosterone deficiency. :)

wow so u were on zyprexa , kpin and xanax at higher doses than what i was taking? i thought i was at the max possible prescribed...

Ohhh, heavens no. My Xanax prescription alone was 3mg tabs, "as needed". I'm so glad to be done with that stuff.
