My trainer gave me a diet last year for my contest prep and referred to Lyle McDonald as a source that he uses. I was on a keto diet, which then incorporated protein vegetable days. I'm not sure if that diet has been given a specific name, but I have heard of the author and my secondary opinion of him is good.

yes the name is Lyle's rapid fat loss, and its a damn tough diet!!! How did you manage on that?? Hats off, that one is rough. I am thinking of trying his 2.0 which is carb depletion. Its alot easier than what you did.
lyle mcdonals also has a forum on the net somewhere, i generally associate him with the "cyclical ketogenic diet" Which was a good diet although in my opinion the lowness of the carbs overdid it and weekend refeeds were a little too long.
