Arimidex vs Clomid during cycle

Can someone explain what is the advantage of using Arimidex during cycle to control estradiol instead of using Clomid (or Tamox)?
Just because Arimidex is more effective?
But it causes low density cholesterol numbers to increase, which is not good. On other hand Clomid does not have such side effect.

thank you.

You are meaning nolva as clomid has no place on cycle only in pct. Nolva has superior anti-estogenic effects compared to clomid but it also lowers igf-1 and as so best to be avoided on cycle unless absolutely needed.
Consider aromasin instead of Adex as it's more friendly on blood lipids although a bit more expensive.

On cycle? Easy.

Arimidex is an aromatase inhibitor, and clomid is a Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulator (SERM). The first actually reduces the amount of estradiol your body makes, the latter just blocks certain receptors from accepting it.

The lipid impact is overstated, and letrozole is the only AI clinically proven to be harsh on lipids to any great extent. The poster above is correct though, in that aromasin is superior, albeit more expensive.

If you're gyno prone, use of a SERM is okay, but judicious use of an AI is best. Getting blood work 4-6 weeks in with long esters will help you determine if you're controlling estradiol properly.

My .02c :)
