atkins diet and aas

Some jerks at another boarded flamed me for suggesting body builders and performance atheletes need carbs. They actually believed atkins was the way to go.
 
there's a lot of misinformation floating around on all of the boards. you've really just gotta feel your way around and figure out what works best for you.
 
Your muscles like to burn glycogen during intense periods. And insulin is an anabolic hormone. These are the reasons Atkins is a poor choice for athletes or anyone desiring a muscular body.
 
insulin is essential for building muscle, without insulin it is impossible to build muscle, atkins style ketosis diet pretty much stops insuilin release.
Although whey protein has been shown to produce an insulin release so by adding a whey drink in your day would help alhough you would be probably be in and out of ketosis.!!
