"easier on the shoulders and better chest development?"
Maybe better for the shoulders but if u do the movement good u wont have that problem.
Development - not a chance in hell bro.
iether use bumbells or barbells for bench. use cables for flyes.
incline flye, and flat flys, but you should try free wieght. get better results. use cables for finishing moves i dunno, i dont use cables much.
The barbell, dumbell, and cable versions are all very different movements when it comes down to it with benefits unique to each. Barbells tend to allow more total weight to be used. Dumbells require additional stabilization and therefore promote greater levels of intermuscular coordination. The Dumbell movement also shows higher levels of pectoralis major activation during EMG testing. The Cable version delivers stress to the pecs at a different angle than the free weight versions. I like to focus on the Dumbells with the bench at decline and various degrees of incline then use the Cable movement as a finisher.
wow i never seen "chains" before. i read that thread, so the point is so that it makes you push more weight as you push the bar higher? makes sense since it gets easier for most people as the bar raises. but without the extra weight from the chains when the bar is at your chest wouldnt there be little results when u tried to bench without them?
